It's worth considering using an estate agent with more appropriate fees. To renew our contract it costs £180, an extortionate fee in which virtually no work is done by Thorgills. To add insult they didn't even provide good service as they initially wrote my name as "Thomas Cook". I presume the agent was thinking about spending the £180 on a holiday.
Where do I even begin. Never contact you once you've paid them money. Always have to be chased. Staff are young and have no knowledge of the properties they are 'managing', meaning they are unable to answer even the simplest of questions. Accused us of giving false guarantor information when it was an administration mistake on their end. Tried to force us to have a 'lead tenant' and one guarantor between 4 tenants which was ridiculous. To top it all off, 11 days before our move in date, the first time they contacted the landlord we later found out despite having made the offer 3 months ago, the landlord withdrew from the process and they charged us £200 and said there was nothing they could do for us. We also found the property we were meant to be renting listed elsewhere a month after we'd signed our contract.. Avoid them like the plague.
