Usually I don’t leave negative feedbacks, but in case of Northwood Birmingham, I feel obligated to warn other people from using their services. … More
This would’ve been a 5 star review if we were treated fairly and better. The flat was wonderful with a few disrepairs that were never checked or if so, not fixed properly. Parking was not included on the rent even tho there was a parking space with our number. We tried to get a permit but weren’t allowed as well. We received a section 21 on the 10th month of our rent for no reason given, we basically got kicked out. We never received a noise complaint, and we always made sure to pay on time, so that was disappointing. On the checkout was where the worst happened; we told Northwood that we will be vacating a certain day and we got the green light to proceed, however we did changed the day to a closer one but never received a reply from Hina, or the step guide on how to leave the property. Luckily it was our third time renting so we knew what to do exactly. When I returned the keys I felt the agents were cold and rude to us, and told us we won’t get our refund until start of April as Hina was on annual leave (I handed out the keys the 18th march). We never received a reply back from the emails sent and we were constantly calling to ask for an update. The reply? “Oh, yeah, we will take a note and let Hina know, she’s not available atm”. They were extremely rude about it with me and my partner which I don’t find It fair as they have 10 days from when we leave the flat to give us the checkout inventory and the refund. We finally got it by the start of April the full refund but I can say all this would’ve been avoided if Hina would have replied our queries through email. She did only replied once when my partner mentioned about breaching our contract. We also felt anxious during all this process as we didn’t have enough funds to pay our next deposit for our new property due to the short notice to vacate their property. My partner called DPS and they told us they couldn’t find our deposit, which DPS told us that it was not secured at our start of the tenancy, as they couldn’t find it through the address either to confirm that it was protected. Would not recommend to rent from them.
Awful experience, rented from these guys back in 2017. Flat was awful, assistance was awful and the application process was horrendous. Reviewing only now after seeing my old emails with them whereby they were completely disorganised. They didn't do anything dodgy with my deposit or such but the price and conditions of the property were unjustifiably bad and considering it was my second rental property, it was suspect that they were so suspicious of my background.
Very bad experience!!! My rent deposit was repeatedly delayed by them for no apparent reason.
The property was dirty when moving in. I asked for it to be cleaned and they said it was not possible. I left the property cleaner when moving out but they insisted in charging a cleaning fee. They really are unprofessional and won't give the time of day to help you. Avoid at all costs.
The service is not good. As soon as you walk in there was music blasting out from a speaker. The staff are not friendly with you and treat you as an inconvenience. Problems within the property were not dealt with immediately and left for months before being resolved only because you say you will make a complaint to the ombudsman. They will always be in denial about their mistakes and will not take any responsibility. Even when found to be in the wrong they just shrug it off.
