They booked a virtual appointment on the phone and said the call would be at 3:05pm. I then received an email saying the appointment was at 4:05pm. At the end of the day, it didn't matter as they never phoned at either time. When I called the office and explained the situation, the guy said oh the person might be running late with the previous appointment. I suggested I will have the call at 4:30pm, to which he replied "no they will be finished by then for another appointment". Well surely, if you are running late it's not going to matter?!?! Anyway, he booked in for a virtual viewing on Friday only to be emailed on Thursday night to say the property is now reserved. So, essentially down to their complete lack of organisation and unprofessionalism you miss out on viewing a house. IN RESPONSE: I NEVER RECEIVED 3 EMAILS. I RECEIVED ONE WITH 4:05, AND I WAS TOLD ON THE PHONE IT WAS 3:05 AS I NEVER HAD A MEETING BOOKED THEN. I ALSO NEVER RECEIVED A CALL WHY WOULD I CALL IF THIS WAS THE CASE?!

Never done one of these reviews before but our experience was so shocking over the last 16 months. Spent over a year in one of Martin & co property. During this time we had requested some replacements for the kitchen as a plumber suggested our washing machine would break - it did and was brand new due to nothing being done. The house when we moved in was disgusting, we spent 3 days cleaning the kitchen, a full day cleaning 2 bathrooms, the painting of walls were streaky and horrible, even an onspector agreed the place shouldn't have been rented. Constantly had people appearing at the house without any notice to do "works". Two times I was breast-feeding sitting under a window and 2 men showed up in the back garden staring to do work. Yet this continued to happen after complaints. Due to being high risk with covid we told the owner Antionette to call when someone would be round. We had no calls at all and someone showed up and got grumpy and moody when my husband said we needed notice. When I called back she was nothing but rude until I said I would need to be out the house. I then heard her say on the phone "shes high risk so she has a reason" as if thats necessary on top of our contract of needing notice. Laurie was just as bad. So rude on the phone, would fob off all my inquiries. For a company set in Bathgate they really are up themselves. When we left the property again the owner sent a rude attitude email. I wouldn't rent again from this company if you paid me! The day I moved in to the flat it was dirty, full of tools, a boiler, screws and nails. It absolutely stank of cigarettes, and after leaving the property all of my belongings stank. The landlord ripped out the mains BT point and left the wires hanging in the hall, a long with cement and a plank of wood with nails sticking out of it. I had a leak and the landlord didn't answer the emergency telephone number. I had to go to a neighbour for the letting managers number. The landlord then decided he didn't want to do anything for a week. That is when I gave my notice to vacate the property from hell. The security door was smashed with shards of glass sticking up from it and it didn't lock nor was it connected to a buzzer system. All of this I was told would be completed before I moved in. I gave them 8 weeks notice before I moved in!!!
