We were very pleased with EweMove's team of Nick and Samantha. Sam took great photos of our house and personally showed people around. She always gave us prompt feedback after viewings. We felt we had a caring a diligent team behind us at all times. Thanks so much.

I recently had a disappointing experience with this agency while attempting to purchase a property. I viewed a property prior to it being marketed and made an offer shortly after, which was verbally accepted. Following the agent’s advice, I promptly contacted my mortgage advisor and solicitor and provided the requested documentation, including a mortgage in principle. However, communication became limited during the process, and I was not informed that other offers were being actively considered. I later found out that the property had been offered to another buyer without being given the opportunity to revise my offer. I understand that agents have a duty to continue marketing a property until a proceedable offer is confirmed, and that vendors ultimately choose the buyer. However, clearer and more timely communication would have made a significant difference and allowed me to respond appropriately. This was particularly disappointing as my previous interactions with the agency had been positive. I hope this feedback helps improve communication with future buyers

The property was shown to you just prior to going live on the market, and it was clearly communicated that all interested parties would be invited to submit their best and final offers. Your initial offer was received a week later and below the asking price, and you were given the opportunity to submit a revised offer alongside other buyers. As stated in our confirmation email, a digital proof of funding and a mortgage in principle were required—not a mortgage illustration. This was not received until 10 days after your initial offer, which affected the vendor’s ability to assess proceedability. At that stage, it was also apparent that your personal circumstances, including a newly signed fixed-term rental agreement, limited your flexibility to proceed. All offers and proofs of funding were fully reviewed by the vendor and the property was only withdrawn once the vendor confirmed an acceptable, proceedable buyer and the memorandum of sale issued. We understand this outcome was disappointing, but it reflected the vendor’s choice and the comparative strength of offers, rather than any shortfall in our service. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to review how we keep buyers informed during competitive situations. Thank you for sharing your feedback.

The staff appear to get 'first choice' of sale properties before they are advertised. I don't think it is fair to other buyers if the estate agents buy themselves properties, ('to let' out as holiday lets), prior to the public seeing a 'For Sale' sign, advertisement online, or details in a newspaper. OK, it is great news for sellers to have a quick sale, but properties should be available for ALL potential buyers to have an equal chance to purchase. Perks of the job maybe, but unfair. Seems to be a widespread practice with estate agents everywhere!

Hi Anna, I can assure you, no member of staff has ever bought a property from this agency. I have no idea what you are referring to, holiday let’s not exactly popular in Ingleby Barwick where we are based? If you drop me an email on Anthony@inglbey-Homes.co.uk maybe I can clear things up for you?

Went to their office. People were there, windows open. Got no reply from door entry phone. Rang office from mobile whilst in reception, still no reply. Left a message. They didn't respond. Sent a message to them on Facebook, still no response.

Awfully disappointed by the poor responsiveness and lack of communication. Have been in touch on 3 separate occasions to arrange a viewing; not a single call or email back. Such a shame as have had positive previous experiences here but sadly recent practice is clearly no longer consistent with their reputation.

If I could give the team here less than 1 star I would. They seem friendly when you live in their property but as soon as you move out, they pick at every little thing possible and try to keep as much as possible. We had no issue with Elly but Karen made this very difficult, upset my wife and were't happy with the cleaning (even though we paid cleaners to go in and clean). Complaining about the washing machine drawer not being clean! Really?!?! Get a grip! Do not trust these people. All they want is money and if god forbid you move out and they don't have a new tennant already lined up, they will keep your money.

Hi Connor, We acknowledge your feedback and appreciate the time we were able to spend discussing this over the phone following your review. We try to make the moving out process of a rental property as smooth as possible and have fair processes in place to help our tenants through this process. Included within this is our move out checklist which contains helpful information on what to expect during your move out, the areas we'll be looking at when it comes to the move out inventory and also some common areas tenants often forget. One of these areas detailed is the washing machine drawer. I'm not sure what more we could have done to direct your attention to this. The last thing we want is for money to be unnecessarily deducted from the deposit when our tenants have full control over how they return the property back to the landlord/agency. Karen is always happy to help and has remained calm and professional throughout. She, and we as a team have gone great lengths in order to assist in attempts to help minimize any deductions on your behalf and to encourage the landlord to look at your deductions as fairly as possible, which she has done. As you are already aware, there is no financial gain in any way to us and a lot of time and effort has been put into try and help reach a resolution with you. We wish you all the very best in your new home. Kind regards, EweMove York
