The reason agents have a bad name. Unlawful fees? Check False promises? Check Twisted communications? Check Ignorant? Check Will they lie? Check Will they steal? Check The list sadly goes on. Whilst this review is merely an expression of my opinion, it is one reached after 7 years of interaction. I rented a 4 bedroom house from them, and they acted as agent for the landlord who I never met. After viewing the house, it was agreed a lot of work was needed to make it a habitable family home. The agent very clearly agreed, and we struck a deal based upon basic things such as cleaning and painting would be done for us to enable a fresh start. On move in day we arrived to find none of this had been done, and when we raised the issue, we were told: ‘just leave it as you find it.’ This of course was unacceptable as the house, as-well-as dirty, was actually unsafe. When we left, they ignored us for months, and then tried to steal our deposit on the grounds that the house needed works!!! Saying that the check I had been lost and all issues were down to us. After taking this to the authorities they ruled, correctly, against the agents. However, this does not make us for months and years of stress and risk. Avoid like the plague. UPDATE: The case went the tenancy deposit scheme’s arbitration, and although it took several months, I received everything. The landlord chose to also blame the agent for the issues.
They are really slow. Getting anything fixed eg boiler, leeks etc take weeks. In our personal opinion I’d never use them ever again. Our oven has been broken for over 3 weeks. Still waiting. We have to call and chase them to find out what’s happening. Really unprofessional.
If I could give half a star I would. One of the worst agencies I’ve ever had to deal with. Unprofessional, dishonest, lazy and incompetent. They also like to take advantage of young vulnerable individuals with disabilities and ignore concerns. Avoid Woking branch sales team they just want your money.
One of the worst agents I've ever had to deal with, and that is saying something. Months taken to resolve serious issues, they blame contractors rather than take any responsibility, a week or more between email replies and after having no working shower for months I was offered £50 compensation which was worse than insulting. Avoid.
To start on a high, the estate agent actually was very helpful. Answered any questions I had and was very kind. The issues started with communication. I was given a sales progressor who failed to give thorough updates and when they did, they were weeks after my solicitor gave me one. When I communicated this to them, they got very defensive, deflected and I was passed onto another sales progressor. No accountability taken. Again, same happened with the new progressor, slow/no updates, but I just cracked on and waited (almost pulled out at this point as I was now on the 5th month of waiting and the thought of them gaining commission on such an awful service really annoyed me). Completion day then came around, a day that is supposed to be so exciting and luckily was but only due to the people I was with. CHANCELLORS DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHO I WAS OR THAT I WAS THERE TO COLLECT THE KEYS. They didn't even know about the property even though it was their listing! They turned me away and I had to wait 6 hours until my solicitor gave me the go ahead to try and collect the keys again. I came back and was pretty annoyed (rightly so) and the person who gave me the keys tried to justify the situation by telling me how bad their experience was when they first bought a property?! I literally couldn't be arsed at that point. When I finally did collect the keys, someone was still vacant in the property! Luckily they were very kind but I didn't think it was very appropriate.
Very unprofessional! The rent refund process was totally chaotic. No one followed up after a month then saying that they have not found a new tenant yet which Chancellors are the one who asked us to leave earlier if possible. After that staff is no longer working there, they claimed that they do not have any evidence and asking us to pay the rent (29 days) even we were told to move out as there were someone moving in in 5 days. TOTALLY SCAM!!! DO NOT USE THIS agency!!!!

Couldn’t even get through to this branch, despite trying multiple times over a number of weeks and calling different branches, even Head Office at one point! Missed out on viewing a number of properties we were interested in.
Since putting my own house on the market with another agent in Woking Chancellors has bombarded me with cards offering their services. They are not the only agent who has done this. All have been asked to stop and they have except Chancellors who has ignored my request. Annoying potential customers shows contempt for them. Who would want to use an estate agent who treats their potential customers with contempt.
PLEASE DO READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOURSELF FROM DISAPPOINTMENT, STRESS AND WASTE OF YOUR TIME ! IF I COULD I WOULD NOT RATE CHANCELLORS EVEN ONE STAR. THEIR ATTITUDE , WORKING ETHIC AND DISHONESTY IS UNBELIEVABLE. Two weeks ago me and my partner registered with Chancellors to view a property in St. Johns Village , we were dealing with ** TANIA ROCHA ***from sales who from the beginning sounded like she is not even keen to do her job or get her commissions. We met her at the property and were surprised that she doesn't know almost anything about the house and when we asked her why the property hasn't sold yet she said it is very overpriced which I found very unprofessional. You would expect she will be acting on behalf of her seller's interest ... Unfortunately for us we fell in love with the house and straight after the viewing we put an offer on the property. It was Friday and *** TANIA ROCHA - SALES NEGOTIATOR ***said to us our offer won't be put forward until Monday as they have another viewings on SAturday ...???? On Monday we were very eager to hear the outcome of our offer but we had to call them ourselves to find out that TANIA ROCHA is off sick and that manager JORDAN will handle our offer. I called *** JORDAN CASKIE- SENIOR SALES MANAGER ***again around 1pm to find out that he actually can't find our offer form so he asked me to resend the offer form through to him which was promptly done by my partner . She never received any acknowledgment that he has received that email and that they are putting the offer through or dealing with it ... it was 5 pm when we thought we would check in again but ***JORDAN CASKIE ***was not around so we spoke to his colleague who mentioned there is another party interested who made an offer and that JORDAN CASKIE would calls us by the end of the day to give us some update... We never heard back from him and had to chase again the following day to find out there are other two offers on the table and JORDAN kept saying that there are at very similar level to ours... Remember, it has been more than 72 hours since we submitted our offer and we've never received official email confirmation to acknowledge our offer. on Tuesday after 2pm we received call from CHARITY HOLDEN - SURREY & HANTS SALES REGIONAL DIRECTOR who rejected our offer saying that there are two other offers which are significantly higher than ours . Her negotiations skills were 0 as she didn't even bother to ask us if we would like to increase our offer... After the phone call with her we decided to increase our offer which again was not acknowledged by email or phone call ( which made us think that maybe the seller was not even made aware of our offers in a first place )... The following day we just received email that our increased offer was rejected and the seller decided to proceed with another offer ,NO PHONE CALL FROM *** CHARITY HOLDEN ***OR ANY OF THEM AND IT WAS JUST LEFT LIKE THAT . We really felt treated unfairly and that we never actually had any chance to get this house. I HOPE SELLERS ARE ALSO READING MY REVIEW BEFORE THEY DECIDE TO PROCEED WITH THIS AGENCY AS THEY WILL NOT ACT IN THEIR BEST INTEREST WHATSOVER. Our offer was rejected on Wednesday but obviously we never had a call from them. I decided to give MANAGER JORDAN call today which is Saturday ( 3 days later) to find out what exactly happened with my offer . You won't believe it but he completely lied through his teeth saying that our offer was rejected last night ( which was Friday) ?! .... WE WILL NEVER USE CHANCELLORS AGAIN EVEN IF THEY HAVE OUR DREAM HOME , THEY ARE DOGGY AND NOT DECENT ESTATE AGENTS AT ALL . WE WILL BE ALSO LOOKING TO REPORT THIS ISSUE TO ESTATE AGENTS OMBUDSMAN .NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism
