AVOID!!!AVOID!!!AVOID!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM COMPANY

I do not have words left on how bad this company is. Since they took over the property I was renting I have had constant hassle. I have since left the cottage due to all the difficulties. Firstly they stood by the landlord's side who has put up the rent in December last year by 18%, when I already had electricity bills coming up to £500 a month and a feezing house, with doors and bath draft, completely unable to have a comfortable shower at any point. The bathroom was 6 degrees C and all my plees to sort out a bathroom heater were ignored, both of my children were always cold. Since I refused a higher rent and they would not negotiate down to 10% increase, they issued me with section 21. Now I cannot get my deposit back as they sent me estimates for the cottage redecoration (in thousands of pounds), pruning of trees, tidying the garden which I made a lot nicer than I found, removing the shed that is not even mine. I find this treatment appalling. Especially that when me neighbour left the cottage nextdoor, didn't get charged anything at all.. This is targeting a vulnarable single female parent. It's disgusting. On top of that the agent took photos of my son's antique collectable knife collection while doing an inspection and sent them to the police without my consent or checking if I had the right to keep them, for which I was unlawfully penalised. On top of that I was lied to as well about outstanding rent and deposit refunds. I wonder if there is a regulating authority to report this misconduct or perhaps this is normal practice!

£70,000 over the asking price? We had a dreadful experience with Cooke Curtis and Co., who listed a building at very much its market price. After being impossible to contact for weeks at a time, the seller asked for an additional £70,000 over the asking price because it suited his tax portfolio! This was badly managed by Cooke Curtis and Co., who clearly neither vet nor manage the clients they take on. There are plenty of good estate agents in Cambridgeshire - you can avoid them!

Exploitative company. Will chase tenants for fees for miniscule itinerary items upon exit of the property, even if you leave the property more clean than before. Unsurprising, but disappointing. Telling that the reviews that make up their 4.4 star rating are not by those that rent. I wonder why!

I wanted to buy a house in this agency, but the agency gave incomplete information, my 10 days were wasted and I could not buy the house. They were very uninterested and unwilling to sell the house and we had to call each time for information. I never, ever recommend it.

I let a room from them. They were late to respond to the problems and very disrespectful when I was leaving. If you are letting or planing to let from them, I suggest to take photo of every bit of the property from the first day. I received a room with construction dust and left a clean place behind. Still they have cut from my deposit. It is not about money. 72pounds is not going to make me rich but the attitude was beyond rude. We deserve better than this. I will never use or suggest anyone use their services.
