Wow. Put offer on a bungalow which was accepted, meet with the owners and the owner ask me had we been informed about the overage agreement which we had not. Requested the info from them which took a week to come and was just a generic agreement with no reference to address. When asked for a copy with the address details on they told me they had accepted another offer on the bungalow, obviously a higher offer. Very unprofessional would never us this company.

Thank you for taking the time to pop a message on here Mr Lazenby, we are of course very sorry to read your comments, and had hoped to address them in our conversation this afternoon. As we discussed, whilst your offer was accepted in principle, the confirmation we sent to you following the offer that you made did state ‘We now require further information before we can stop further viewings or mark the property as under offer’ with details of the information that we require including those of how you would be looking to purchase the property. We understand the meeting with the seller went well where you explained this but as the sellers agent, we have the obligation to gather the same. In regards to the overage agreement, we can confirm that as soon as we were in possession of the detail of the overage that you discussed with the owner, we let you have all the information that we were provided with, unfortunately this did take a little time and for this we empathise with your frustrations. Unfortunately, as you were aware, a further offer had come forward in the meantime and as you know, we have a legal obligation to discuss all offers with our sellers unless contracts have already exchanged. The required information from the other party came forward quickly and we took instructions from our client to move forward with that offer. We are sorry at this time that we were unable to proceed with the offer you placed on the property, and hope that you understand we do have to always work within our guidelines and the law to ensure compliance when dealing with the sale of our clients property. We wish you luck with your property search and are on hand if you should wish to revisit working with us in the future.

Rude staff, owner is a time waster and charged my 5%. Ovoid at all costs!

Hi Kimberly, I think you may have the wrong business? Our staff cannot recall you, we cannot find you on the system and James doesn’t recall ever meeting you? We charge 1.1% + VAT not 5%. If we are mistaken then please get in contact with the office who will do everything in our power to fix any issues.

Had a house viewing arranged for 11.30 am arrived at 11.26 am my husband reversed into a parking space and the car next to us drove off ,it was the estate agent leaving ! We walked to the property and waited for 10 minutes then rang James du pavey and told them that no one had arrived to let us in .They rang us back a couple of minutes later and said that they had contacted the agent and told him to come back .When he came back he opened the property while we looked around .We were inside for approximately 8 minutes and he shouted I need to " get off guys" ,and we went back downstairs to leave. We hadn't finished looking around and hadn't seen the back area with the store and garden ,he didn't even ask what we thought of the property ! We found his attitude unprofessional and some what rude ,like he couldn't be bothered .We were interested in the property, but this completely put us off.

Dear Mrs Robinshaw, it was great to speak to you yesterday. As I explained on the call, it appears that we had an incorrect mobile number for you and that you had not received the Covid health questionnaire. As we explained when the appointment was arranged, we require all viewings to complete a health questionnaire prior to an appointment being confirmed due to the current climate and following government guidance. Once that is completed we confirm the viewing by text. As we had not received the health questionnaire, the viewing was not confirmed and the confirmation text was not sent either, which was why the agent was not there at the arranged time. We did however following your call, try to fit you in around our diary for a quick visit but due to a full day off appointments we were not able to give you as much time as we normally do. We now have the correct mobile number for you and I have sent a health questionnaire to show you how our system works. As discussed in the call, I look forward to welcoming you back to the house for a second viewing soon. We are really sorry you had a bad experience and hope that our explanation has helped rectify the problem.
