We were purchasing a house which Claire Heritage was marketing. At the open house it was a free for all, and she sat on her laptop, we waited until everyone left in order to speak about the house. Firstly, she kept us waiting for one week after offer was made although the Vendors confirmed they wanted to sell to us and not the other people she was trying to get to outbid us. From the start Claire did not manage this sale at all and it created a lot of issues along the way. Not to mention the fact that untoward things were going on; she recommended companies for Finance and SLDT only to find these companies were extortionate in costs compared to other companies. The upward chain had increased considerably and Claire did not mention this until we were due to exchange. Luckily, we found out some truths about the extortionate costs as mentioned above, then repairs which our survey had uncovered were going to cost a huge amount more than the quotes that were presented to us. The local school had a significant drop in rating by OFSTED which we suspect may have been known a couple of months prior by the Vendor and Claire, when we found out these irregularities we pulled out of the sale. Claire also ignored our communications to her numerous times. Not once did Claire try to solve the issues or speak with our Estate Agent to clarify things. We found her very unprofessional and we have since heard this from other people also. Based on this experience we would not buy a house marketed by Fine & Country

Dear Lee & Philippa, I have responded to your complaint directly to you via email. I have taken my time to consider your view point on the matter and completed a thorough investigation and simply cannot find any fault with the conduct, communication or help that both Claire and Sam offered to you throughout the duration of this purchase. They did the very best they could, given the circumstances and the additional time that was added onto the purchase by the change in proceeding independently of the sale of your own home. The seller of the property has also gone out of their way to make sure I am aware of the excellent work Claire has done with regard to this case. In summary I feel there is no case to answer and the agents involved have followed the correct protocols and service standards. I have noted all of your negative reviews that you have posted and feel these are completely unvalidated and should be removed with immediate effect. Such reviews have a significant impact on the agents concerned and Claire is one of the hardest working and most respected agents in the industry and your accusations have no grounds and I ask you to consider the impact of your words on the agents concerned and their ongoing careers. Very unprofessional agency especially one of the partners name of Sam Funnell. I had to chase this man as he never returned my email. I missed the opportunity for an viewing as he failed on his side. He never informed me that the property was sold. Even the office. I will never do any type of property business with this agency. Very unethical. Very lazy. Per Sam’s message below I replied to you after the email stating we can view the property another day and Sam never replied. Per the email from you: Hi Angela Sadly our sellers aren’t available for viewings on Wednesday, let me know whether you are available on other days? Kind regards Sam Sent from Outlook for iOS I replied back to you stating any other day is fine with us. I still have this email in my inbox. I had to chase Sam today as the agency was closed per Christmas holidays. Per the email above you never stated you are taking off any time for that week. That is a lie. You should have been professional enough to reply. You were not! You are not professional enough to answer my phone calls but you do reply to this review. I left a message for you today and nothing. This is lazy and very unprofessional. I will never do business with you or agency. Just scammers!

Hi Angela thanks for taking the time to leave a review. As you know you cancelled your original viewing before Christmas and you wanted to view on another day that our sellers couldn’t accommodate. On this occasion our clients accepted a fantastic offer and their instructions were honoured in taking the house off the market. On the basis that I left you a message to confirm that, on a day that I was spending time with my family during the Christmas break, then I assumed that was acceptable. Complete lack of integrity by the agent we were dealing with. Was advised by the agent to offer £50k under asking- we did and followed up with the agent everyday to be told our offer was with the vendors solicitors. Then received a call to say a full offer ask had been received. At no point did Graham let us know there were other buyers looking at the property or another offer had been made. In his words “ I didn’t want to start a bidding war” odd for an estate agent. To sum it it up- he was completely useless. Wouldn’t touch with a barge pole.
