Unfortunately our experience has been negative. Not because of hilbury chaplin, but because of the landlord they represent. We went without a toilet for a while and when we moved out, our deposit disappeared. It's been 5 weeks and still no word. We now have to lodge a claim through TDS to find out what's happening. The reason I'm leading this review, is because hilbury were aware of the conduct of this landlord before we even rented the property. We were told on numerous occasions by numerous members of staff that this is what she's like... In my opinion, they shouldn't be doing business with her if they know she mistreats tenants. I'm saddened because the people that work here are nice. It's disappointing to know they are effectively leading you on to a trap.
I don’t recommend! I was very disappointed about this agency because,the agents tells you something and after that doesn’t make anything! Normally they had to refund us some money for 15days because,we moved earlyer than we normally should...because the landlord was sick...they told us that will refund the money. When I called them to refund the money they said “sorry you have to speak with your ex landlord to refund the money”. I asked then: Why you said then than you guarantee the refund. Charlie’s response was: “Sorry”!
Would give 0 stars if it was an option. What a rude, unhelpful and unprofessional bunch! The worst estate agent we have had the misfortune of having to deal with. No one seems to know what's going on, whenever we called up with questions the person is never there who deals with it 'conveniently'. We seem to talk to someone different each time and just get strung along without getting any answers. I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with Hilbery Chaplin and the property management department are the worst we have dealt with to date. Just terrible! Avoid this agent!!
awful, they are not bothered about the landlords properties as they are not willing to wait 5 min longer for a client. The don't do views after 4.45.
Worst estate agent ever ! Put the rent up every year and given reason why like how they will improve your property been waiting 6 months for these improvements that have never happened. Your property manager never answers the phone unless it benefits them. They never fix anything ! I've been living in my property nearly 2 years and not once have a property inspection yet they charge the landlord saying they do it. Just rubbish and rude can't wait to move out mine so I don't have to deal with them again
I totally agree with the other review on Hilbery Chaplin.This is probably the worst managment agents I have ever had to deal with. Lack of communication, leaving us still 3 months down the line with a ceiling with bad water damage and now trying to kick us out early of our contract as we are unable to pay the rent increase of £300pcm, while we still have 6 months to go. Avoid this company at all costs. The buildings they manage are not maintained and remain far below health and safety standards this I can not stress enough from my own experience.
