I recently purchased my first ever home through Red Hot Property, Prudhoe. I have been cared for by this estate agent in such an honest and professional manner. Special thanks to Melanie who I have worked with from the beginning of the process and has just made everything so smooth for me. Additional thanks to Zak for taking over this role when needed also. I would highly recommend this estate agent for those wanting to buy or sell.
Excellent service from Melanie at the Prudhoe office - cannot recommend enough. Always on hand to answer questions and to guide you through the whole selling process, she really is fab! X
We have been in contact with local agents over the last year and have to say that our dealings with Red Hot Property in Hexham has been our best experience. Responsive and great level of service. Special mention to Cheryl who gave us a virtual tour of a property during lockdown and Matthew who also gave us a virtual tour of a property and has made rental of our new home simple - thank you.
really helpful and polite and nothing was any bother
Many thanks Trudie and Melanie for all your help with our house sale in difficult times. Chris and Helen.
If i could give 0 i would. SO UNPROFESSIONAL Do not recommend these for renting at all, if you’re in the market for somewhere to rent around this area i strongly suggest going to someone else. These were managing our rented property and they told nothing but lies, i am truely appalled and disgusted with the treatment and rude/blunt email’s we faced. They left us in a damp infested property which they laughed at and said “other peoples are worse” (even though all of our stuff was getting ruined) Then proceeded to show us images of other peoples properties. They lied to us about appointments being made. “Someone will be coming out on this date” no one turned up on numerous occasions. We did have 1 damp inspection to which he said it was inhabitable only a few months into the tenancy, nothing was done, they kept blaming us stating we were missing appointments when in reality they’d schedule the odd appointments, tell us at the last minute and it was too late notice for work & then when we were able to make them no one turned up which meant we lost out on a days work for absolutely nothing. 4 of the Windows wouldn't open which is illegal.. but all they cared about was if we were maintaining the hedge in the back garden and not our health in the property. After this they decided to evict us and blame us, the eviction notice was because the property was now inhabitable, dangerous to our health and work was needed immediately as no one could stay in there…We found out that it was just because the tenant before us really wanted the property back so she was all moved in THE DAY AFTER we handed our keys back & had the nerve to charge us for a carpet clean!! 4 months later ~ heard from a neighbour that NONE of the work has been done. windows look to be still broken and the hedge they were so ridiculous about hasn’t even been maintained. So the eviction notice was a BIG LIE!!! I also spoke to a previous staff member of prudhoe’s branch to which she agreed it was absolutely shocking and how “heartless and unforgiving” they were. Thankfully we are out of that tenancy now, definitely the most frustrating renting experience we have ever had! Do not contact me regarding this review i don’t wish to speak to any of you at Red Hot.
Renters beware, make sure you get everything in writing and take plenty of photos as proof.
Wanted to use my offer to drive the price up, with no intention of accepting my offer unless they were desperate. Business is business but have the decency to be honest instead of inventing imaginary delays. Moving home is stressful enough without not being able to trust the agent you are using. I can well imagine these agents have pulled the plug right before the end, in the name of a better offer. Signed me up for emails from other agents in their group, being harassed by Holbrook and Co now despite several requests to be removed from the mailing list. They like to pretend they are independent but they are part of a chain of agents with the usual corporate attitude that goes with it. Found these agents to be underhand and dishonest. I would not sell, buy, or rent a property with this agent. Viewer was unprofessional and knew nothing of the property and did not appear to know a great deal about the industry or construction, which is deeply concerning as they are supposed to be a regulated individual who knows what they are selling!
If you are disabled and/or suffer from poor mental health, I would strongly recommend you stay well clear of this company as they'll try pull the wool over your eyes. I sold my house through RHP and was told by their agents that the buyer was a cash buyer and had already sold their house (I have 2 emails confirming this). I also accepted a lower offer on my house as I thought there was no chain and it'd be a quick sale. To my surprise my solicitor informed me that I was part of a chain. RHP only told me about the chain 2 weeks before completion, when the people at the top of the chain started pushing for an exchange date. I never received any sort of explanation/apology from RHP for misleading me.
How to challenge DSS discrimination Find out what you can do if an agent refuses to rent to you just because you get benefits. No DSS policies are unlawful discrimination A 'no DSS' policy is when an agent refuses to rent to anyone who gets universal credit or housing benefit. This could include when agents: refuse to let you view an affordable property won't consider you for a tenancy because you get benefits advertise properties as 'no DSS' or 'working professionals only' The courts have ruled that no DSS policies are unlawful because they indirectly discriminate against women and disabled people. But you can complain to an agent or the Property Ombudsman about no DSS policies, regardless of your sex or disability. FYI
