Difficult to understand their business model. Not as straightforward as the radio ads suggest. If you can, use the abnb route or the usual suspects for holiday lettings if you have the time. This is just my opinion based on talking to them. Try before you buy.
We have rented a property from Northwood for 7 years and thank god its finally over! Upon moving in the property was filthy, certainly not professionally cleaned as we were expected to leave upon vacating! We were left with a mouldy fridge which took several phone calls to get someone to sort. The house needed painting from top to bottom and the garden was a jungle. Over the last 7 years I would say on average it has taken 6 months to get any problems resolved. Upon vacating the property was the biggest mess i've ever experienced in my 10 years of renting. Gillian was deliberately deceitful from the moment we had to deal with her on the day the keys were handed back. Made out she was doing us a favour when in fact she wanted to charge us £400 extra for rent which they had no grounds to do so, hence why we now have our deposit back (note the lack of apology for their wrong doings!) Not pleasant to speak to ever and certainly has left warning others to avoid Northwood at all costs! Both landlords and renters. Sam however was always a pleasure to deal with.
Ive rung them twice and left a message but they didn't get back to me so uve found another agent.
Had poor communication every time I called. Felt like the agency did not want to speak and kept taking a message and promised a call back from Jenny- however never did get a call back. I called back a few times about an application put in and told I would get a call back every time I would call but never did and then used the excuse of 'misscomunnication'NegativeResponsiveness, Quality
Been letting a property for over 2 years with Northwood and have found them to be very unprofessional, Any issue with the property and they just pass it off as if they don’t want to deal with it. It’s as if it’s to much trouble. I suspect I’m not the only tenant who’s had similar issues. Damp in my property and I’m told to open windows!! Great advice! Thanks!
