initial good service then it fell off a cliff!

Initially very pleased with the experience but once we had an offer on the table the agents became very hard to contact, were very slow in providing updates - if they came back at all and seemed at times to represent their buyer rather than us. I lost track of the number of times I left a message to get nothing back for days on end. Very disappointing customer experience especially as my mum who was selling was elderly, anxious and was going through what is acknowledged as a very stressful time

Bad review

Buying a house should be a happy, wonderful time. Unfortunately this was not the case. From the start we were dealing with people who lied to us and deceived us. My husband and I put an offer in on a house in Feb 2016, we were advised the client wanted this done ASAP and was prepared to move into rented accommodation. 5 months down the line, we had paid for the searches etc and everything else that comes with buying a house, We were constantly being told that the client was looking into rented accommodation. after 5 and a half months of this mess we then got a call from our solicitor to state that the vendor was pulling out of the sale!! it broke us. We were living out if boxes. It took all our strength to even consider looking again, but after a week we did. We spoke to the agents and explained that this time we were not going to be messed around. we found a property and still reeling from the experience that we had just been through, we arranged a viewing. I should have run away when I asked the agent who was showing us around questions about the property, we got told "oh I don't know I'm just here to show you around". HE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THE PROPERTY!!!! we may as well have looked by ourselves. Because there was nothing else in our price range, we put in an offer. It was declined, they said if we offered £1000 more they would accept and said this was to be completed be end of August, so we agreed. once again we were told the vendors were prepared to move into rented accommodation. August came and went, every day on the phone to both solicitors and estate agents. The agents were useless in giving us information, We were then told we were now in a chain and could be here for sometime!!!!!! I was ready for pulling out after being lied to!!! WE FINALLY COMPLETED 25TH NOVEMBER!!!!3 months after being told this needed to be done by August. When we were told things were ready on the Friday we were also told that we had a voucher to collect for our troubles. We were told this could be used to help with xmas or buy something for the house. So we get there and are handed our key and a £20 voucher!!!! £20, what the heck am I going to buy for £20 from Next?? So i suppose you now want a review. well my review is this. You put into place a contract that a vendor needs to sign to say that they will move into rented. TWICE we were told this and TWICE we were lied to by YOU. We have spoken to both vendors who have stipulated that they had no intention of moving into rented accommodation. £20 was not enough of a compensation token. Thank you

Awful and unreliable! Will never use again

Absolutely awful service, was trying to view a flat which I was very keen to rent. The flat which i wanted to view was around 15/20 miles away from where I am actually from (but is more convenient for work purposes). Booked a viewing (but they only had a viewing a week later than what I would have liked). It then got to the day of the viewing, i turned up at 3:50 (my viewing was at 4) to find no one here. I waited until 4:45 to which still no one had shown. On the phone when booking the viewing I was told if i had any problems to ring or pop into the andrew grant shop which was down the road from where i was viewing the flat, but because it was a saturday the shop closed at 4. I was now waiting with no one to contact and had not been contacted by the agent themselves to say that they were running late or could not find me. After a long wait outside the front where they had arranged to meet me, I then walked around to the flat and rang a doorbell to which a neighbor came out and greeted me and kindly told me no one had been around in the last half an hour from andrew grant (he had seen the agent doing alot of viewings for this flat the day before). In order for me to view this flat on this Saturday afternoon I had lost money as i could have been working and also had wasted my whole afternoon as the viewing was 4 (late afternoon so couldnt arrange anything in particular before). I got my mum to ring andrew grant on the monday (as i was working) to then find over the phone that they said that someone had came to the flat on the saturday for the viewing and was waiting approximately 55minutes yet i was stood right outside for this whole time and no one had shown. They even said that they waited by the gate which was locked but by i had spoken to a butcher whos shop was by this exact gate at 4:05 and he said he hasnt seen anyone around! When she then rang back later they told me completely different times to what they had said to my mum earlier in the day about how long they had waited there and from what times they had waited. If their agent had been standing there for 55 minutes then why couldnt they have contacted me to ask where i was? They had all my details! And there was signal as i was frantically trying to get through to someone to help me! Before all of this grief over the phone with andrew grant my mum did ask if I could arrange another booking for this same flat as i was very interested and their reply was that theyre now not doing any more bookings for this flat as it has had alot of people interested. Overall i didnt get to view the flat, i lost money from work, i stook out in the cold for over 45 minutes on a main high street embarrased and looking like a fool and then to blatantly lied to over the phone about someone turning up! Definitely would not recommend this company ever again and shall not ever use this company in the future! Very unreliable and a complete waste of time!
