Went to view a property with them, explained then and there we don’t have a guarantor and are unable to get one. They said we don’t need one - fast forward to them stating we need to pay £150 to apply/do referencing and it’s not refundable if you fail referencing. They explained we have high chance of getting the place. After applying and paying they then said there’s nothing they can do without a guarantor and they will not give us our money back. Scammed out of money when we were desperate, please be careful.
If there was an option to leave a 0 star review I would select it. The staff are incapable at providing updates, there ability to communicate is appalling, and when they do your met with bad attitude despite their website describing them to be friendly. If they are approached with anything out the ordinary or a difficult chain they wont help push things along or communicate with other agents to achieve completion. Don't rely on these agents to help you, they wont go above or beyond, expect nothing but mediocre at best. I am a professional body, who has experienced your unprofessionalism first hand, whilst working with you within a chain, where your staff and manager feel it is appropriate to speak to me with disrespect and wont assist in helping achieve a completion for all parties involved in the chain.
This is a reply to Red Squirrel's inaccurate response to my wife's review. No DAMAGE was ever discussed in relation to the extortionate £450 CLEANING bill. The clue is in the name. The exit Inventory and photographs taken by Red Squirrel themselves provide evidence of the good level of cleanliness the property was left in. Cleaning and damage are two very different things. Red Squirrel's response just goes to show they try to manipulate and twist the truth. The evidence of Red Squirrel's unacceptable charges never went through the DPS system, because we handed our evidence in past the deadline by mistake. This meant that you were awarded the money by default. We have spoken to the DPS and are awaiting proof of this which we will post in this review. Again, you are making another false claim.
very disappointing, they will advice you for their benefits only. we mange to ascabe unhurt . please be carful...NegativeQuality
Very disappointed with this company would not recommend using them, put money down to hold a property and they still put in other applications ☹️
Awful customer service. Me and my partner wished to rent a flat with red squirrel property shop- the employees were unhelpful and predudice on account of our age although we are both young adults who work professionally full time with a large amount of savings. They refused to take us seriously and begrudged every move we made. Unless you are middle aged, middle class and horribly predudice yourself, I would never recommend this agency. (The 5 star reviews on this page are made by employees of the shop itself)
Very rude, bullying and arrogant. I was lied to and according to some neighbours, I had people waiting for over 45 minutes to view my property and they never showed up. Sent me a court order when I gave them my 2 weeks notice and they added extra fee's on that I was never told about. I would never recommend this estate agents to ANYONE
The receptionist was very pleasant but I felt that the two managers were rather aggressive with bad attitude. Both managers told me different stories as to why a sale fell through. On request I supplied lease details in January. three months later one manager told me the buyer's lender didn't like the 10 yr ground rent review and that the annual ground rent was the extortionate amount of £200/year. Then other manager told me he lender didn't like the 10 yr review not the £200 ground rent. Despite this review is regulated by law. I always felt that this would fall through because the buyer seemed to have difficulty getting together the full amount. I asked the agent to make sure they had the money. Also the fact they got a buyer withing a few days made me uncomfortable. Someone had taken their sold sign down so I took it back into shop and said they were off the case. A manger then chased me down the road demanding to know why. I told him and he began to argue with me. He then sent me an email accusing me of being hostile. This is what I mean by bad attitude. Of course because I have had no contact with the buyer I only have the agents word to believe so I will never know the truth. Because I had paid out a fortune to extend the lease to 125 yrs there was a delay with the 'land registry issuing the new lease. I don't know who the buyers lender was but this is an amazingly good lease. Considering I got a mortgage on the property with no trouble at all and with less years on the lease I have difficulty believing the agents stories about lenders refusing o give a loan because of the lease. Also looking at Red Squirrel owners response to other complaints I suspect he supports this bad customer service. No attempt whatsoever to keep me on side. Very unpleasant experience. No wonder estate agents have a bad name. There must be a lot of properties out there on leasehold that can't be bought. Further there are two reviews here one actually by the companies manager Charlie Panayi and someone else with the same surname, basically saying how wonderful their company is!!!
