Phoned Trading Places Estate and Letting Agents 4 times over three days for an agent to phone back regarding letting and sales. Gave them cell number and email no reply although one staff member said lettings tried to phoned on my cell - no missed or incoming calls registered or in junk mail. Cancelled my enquiry with them 16Nov19 as they can’t get basics right to start with.
I rented from the Trading Places letting agents last year, unlike many here my review is based on the whole process not just after you've moved in, where they try to charm with their pound shop welcome gift. We rented rundown converted 1 bed flat next to Leytonstone for £1200, never should have paid asking price first mistake. After one month we were told we could not have a Sky dish at the property even though there was one when we moved into the property, it was hung too low for a good signal. They are very intrusive; they did a property inspection six months in tried to do another one couple months later. Their contractors always have your keys and only come at times when you are not home to carry out work. The real issues arose after we moved out, they charged us £385.00 to have the house professionally cleaned, even though we left it spotless and forget clean it wasn't even vacuumed when we moved in. They had some old broken chairs in the cellar that they were too lazy to throw away and blamed that on us. The property we moved into had the worst paint job, we were so embarrassed, it made the whole place look rundown, we felt the need repaint ourselves, second mistake. Now they are trying to repaint the whole property and trying to charge us for it acting like we destroyed their masterpiece. And that is just what the landlord wants to charge for, that snake Steve Hunt, tried to blame us for everything that was broken/imperfect at the property, when we made it clear this stuff was already in this state when we moved in, his answer was why didn't you report it for repair so basically they can bring in their own contractors and overcharge the landlords for repairs. My advice is to avoid this company, Theydons and Haarts might be slow to respond but that's because they are good and good means they will be more busy than this type of agents who try to squeeze everything out of the few customers they do have. If you are already in one of their properties, do take pictures of the condition of everything when you moved in and definitely before you move out. Report everything that requires repair, even if it is safe and the damage is only cosmetic. If I quit my job and had a baby, they would give me a house but no I work hard, pay my taxes, my rent on time, and my thanks is getting scammed, dealing with humans like these.
Unprofessional staff - especially Jamie . Really disappointed
