Bought a house in July 2017 where John Payne were the sellers estate agent. I primarily dealt with Nick Kay & Susan Denny, and found them to be professional and responsive. Sold my property in East Greenwich with John Payne. Whilst there were a lot of hiccups and delays along the way with the conveyancers, buyer's broker and lender the whole process was very well held together by Sue Denny at John Payne. Sue took ownership of the end to end propery transaction engaging both converyancers, the mortage broker, the other estate agents and underlying parties. She and her staff were able to provide emergency access to the property when I was absent and even arrange for last minute removalists on the day of completion when the firm I had commissioned failed to show. On my opposing purchase transaction I was using an online estate agent and the difference in standards of personal accountability and competence was significant. I would highly recommend John Payne for handling property sales especially for complex deals requiring finance and extended chains.

If there was a 6 star rating, I would have given it.... Having worked with Sue before I was keen to use John Payne again because I was working away from home whilst my property was on the market. The move also involved a long distance relocation and I needed to work with an agent I could trust. That said, the point where Sue and all her team really pulled the stops out was towards the end on the sale. The chain lower down became very challenging and nearly collapsed...twice! Lucy, my main contact, was an absolute superstar, exceptional. Without her, I doubt the move would have happened and my sanity would certainly not have lasted. From phoning round for new removal companies to keeping solicitors on their toes, it really felt like Lucy cared about the sale and the stress was shared. She went above and beyond and I'm very grateful to now be settled in my lovely new home. Their rates are also competitive.

John Payne Greenwich (my contact was Sue) have been excellent at assisting me throughout my house purchase. Although this is my first time buying a house the process has been a smooth one. Throughout the process I have been kept up to date with relevant information and they have endeavoured to answer my queries in a timely manor. Overall I am very pleased with the service and will use again in the future.

I worked with Nathan Johnson who was one of the best agents I have come across in London. He handled my negotiation smoothly, and still remained helpful and professional when the lease did not proceed (on circumstances out of our control). His knowledge of the area is commendable and his customer service is simply outstanding. An example of this was him, after our lease had not proceeded, informing me that the house which I had paid a holding deposit on was still on the market (despite the fact that we were using another agent). He had no benefit in telling this to me, but did so on the basis of still seeing me as client, notwithstanding the fact that our business together had concluded. I would highly recommend working with him, especially in the Greenwich area, and would give him a higher rating if possible.

My partner and I bought our first flat together from John Payne, Greenwich. We mainly dealt with Susan Denny but also other members of the team. Even though I wasn't paying them, as they were employed by the vendor, their approach and service towards me was well balanced and second to none. Sue, Nick and Lucy were extremely helpful in selling our house and helping to manage our onward purchase. They do not just rely on portal inquiries as we found with other agents but are proactive and have a deep network of local contacts/buyers. We went for another agent first which was a mistake - within days of listing with JP the team arranged many more viewings than we had had in total previously which ultimately resulted in a smooth sale. If you are selling in Greenwich they are by far the best agents - and genuinely nice (& patient!) people too.
