We worked with Tasif from JLL Estate Agent and he was able to address all our queries and was happy to help when needed. But when we moved to the flat there were several challenges and helped received from JLL team was next to negligible. It was hard to chase the team and multiple follow ups were required to even fix the tiniest issues in the flat.
Generally ok, but not perfect. They used bad subcontractors - in particular Kent Domestic who knowingly fitted a heat alarm without batteries and LetCheck inventory company. JLL were not proactive in fixing all issues raised in check-in report (such as heat alarm not being attached, broken freezer compartment door, loose toilet seat). Also some charge for damage caused in previous tenancy, as check-in inventory was not complete and while I raised multiple issues that were present, missed a couple that were then charged at end of tenancy. This is the subcontractor inventory company's issue in not being thorough and would be solved if the inventory provided video of all areas even if they are without issue. Separately when asking to let, the agent said some rental areas are restricted to working professionals (e.g. no students) and ask for 12 months rent up front if not currently working with no alternative option e.g. guarantor. Both of these don't feel right.
My experience mimics those below, in that the communication from representatives at JLL was completely shocking. Ringing 10x a day to either never even get an answer, or to be told someone would ring me back- for this to never occur. I tried to put in an offer for a property and never even received a response. Totally unprofessional and would strongly advise everyone to stay away from this estate agency!
If I can give 0 star, I would definitely do it. First of all everything was perfect when me and my friends were renting a 3 bedroom flat through JLL with Eilis, after 6 months we needed to leave the city because of an emergency, they told us that we need to pay extraordinary amounts which was not stated on the contract at all. However we were just waiting for them to update us after we left the flat and they have mentioned that we need to pay the rent for another 1 year because we were leaving early…. after we left they kept our deposit for 5 months by telling us we will release it next monday, saying this every week for last 2 months. Fatima Khaan tried every way to not to give the deposit back and other financial departmens were asking for 1 year rent because we left early, which was not stated on the conract at all. On top of that they forced us to pay 1 extra day of rent which we didnt stay in the property on that day. we gave the keys to the letting agency before the final day but they took the money from us anyway. If you want to have headache and problems, rent your flat through JLL Startford. I also have rented a flat JLL Canary Wharf, but there was no issues at all like this. Long story short stay away from JLL stratford. Hopefully Eilis can move to another branch or company…. I forgot to mention they deducted 2000 pounds from our current deposit that we have already called the professional deep cleaning service and paid 400 pounds for them that they stated there was no cleaning at all in the flat and to the minor damages they charged us major amounts
Erjana was initially very helpful, but the overall experience was disappointing. The terms of the offer changed after our offer was accepted (that too after 3 days of radio silence) leading to a lot of back and forth. This was frustrating and wasted our time. As a result, we did not proceed with the offer. I hope Erjana will learn from this and improve her communication and negotiation skills in the future.
JLL Breaches Their Own Contracts – Avoid at All Costs We faced serious issues with JLL regarding our deposit. Per our contract, any deductions had to be communicated within a specified time limit after the tenancy ended. That deadline long passed, yet JLL proceeded with requesting deductions, claiming the clause was merely "indicative"—essentially suggesting that contractual terms can be applied selectively at the landlord’s convenience. If key provisions—such as this clear deadline—are treated as flexible, it calls into question the enforceability of the entire agreement. We were surprised to see JLL take this stance, prioritizing the landlord’s interests while disregarding their own contractual obligations. This favoritism toward the landlord was evident throughout our tenancy. For two years, we reported a ceiling leak of foul water from the flat above—completely ignored. Yet, in our final month, JLL suddenly arranged for repairs—not for our benefit, but because buyers viewing the flat were put off by the large stains of foul water on the ceiling and walls. The checkout process was just as poorly handled. We were only informed of the exact time of the appointment two hours before—after we had already vacated the property and during working hours, making attendance impossible from our side. When we contacted the independent checkout agency, they confirmed that JLL had instructed them to withhold the exact appointment details, assuming we wouldn’t attend. JLL is highly efficient when it benefits the landlord but completely unresponsive when it comes to tenants' rights. If you value clear communication, fairness, and a property manager who respects contracts, we strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
Absolute crooks. Left us with no hot water/heating and a front door with a broken lock for 4 days when we moved in and have refused to reimburse us even though they violated the tenancy agreement. Refused to fix badly damaged walls when we moved in and are now lying to try and keep our entire deposit saying we caused the damage. Absolute disgrace. Mengmeng and Chris Chang absolutely awful. The place was cleaner when we moved out than when we got the keys and were still fighting for our deposit months after moving even though they owe us money for the breach on tenancy agreement. THIEVES.
They don’t respond to queries for ads on listing websites, don’t pick up the phone. Disappointed. Maybe it’s a good idea to not post ads you have no intention of replying to?
