Lettings Incompetent and uncaring. Would give NO stars if I could.
Dreadful service, continuous changes in staff, failure to carry out basic instructions, continuous failure to keep records up dated, continuous failure to fully and completely inform vendors of what has or hasn’t been agreed, and ultimately to blackmail vendors to make good your failings. This is NOTHING short of disgraceful behaviour, that had our decease aunt not been such a kind person we fully would have left this run to court proceedings, comfortable in the knowledge that we would countersue for the costs and interest and that we would happily have involved media at the most valuable to Chancellors point…locally, whilst defending / countersuing. At no point has Chanellors managed to even reply to questions / respond to complaints (and there is a very long list of them) nor unfortunately have Chancellors apologised to us, and the costs incurred by their numerous changes in staff, failure to comply to instructions or update staff etc, has ultimately cost a charity well over £1700! Disgusted
VERY DISAPPOINTED by the “polite” but inconsiderate behaviour of Newbury’s Branch Manager (who you’d think would know better). Rather than parking in the allotted (& available) parking of the property he visited, he parks on a path blocking pedestrian use, impeding road use and blocking my drive. Interesting that he considers a smile and “won’t be long” statement makes this ok! 40mins and counting. Well, that’s one less estate agent to consider.
Very poor estate agents, takes ages to arrange viewings, agents don’t know important details about the properties so just talk about themselves the whole time, the lie about market interest in properties to try and rush you into a decision, will be avoiding and properties for sale that they are the agents for
They misplaced the keys we returned and now almost 2 weeks and still no check out inventory done. The owner has moved in and is living at the property... so any damage caused now will likely be blamed on us... no clue when/if my £2k deposit will be returned. No one ever calls you back. Would not recommend
I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve had ‘George’ from Chancellors (Slough) leave me a voicemail, despite emailing them to ask them to stop! Arranged a viewing, they didn’t turn up, which is why I’m not interested in having anything to do with them. When I phoned them, no one seemed to know what was going on! My husband wasted his day off waiting around for them.
I really don't know what wrong is with this company. First nicely they contact you, and later they don't pick up the phone or reply for messages. They keeps flats to rent which are not available any more. Someone could tell me for what are you keep them then? I can understand mistake but is not first time when I caught a contact with your Agents and I'm getting ignored. It's not nice especially when you earn money for helping them. No recomend
Horrendous lettings agency. It's been over 5 weeks since I've moved out and my deposit hasn't been returned, despite many promises that it will. All the agency fees and where do they go? You get dismissed at every opportunity - even by managers. The start of my tenancy should have been a flashing red light with changing the moving date around and the lackluster approach. If I owed them money there is no way this would be dragged out. Do yourself a favour and AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
This is the worst property management group i have ever seen. They mis-sold the agreement with tenant, by not disclosing the matter in full, and later cause a lot of trouble to tenant. I would suggest not to sign up property managed by Chancellors. Or if you signing up, please get all the clause clarified as they don't disclose all the terms properly. For my case they just mention tenant responsible for utilities & water in agreement as a standard clause. Never disclose a huge fixed amount of water charge applies to the property. As a responsible tenant, tried to setup water account at the beginning, however water company confirmed no account exist for that property and same informed to agent. Spent entire tenure (16 months) and nobody inform anything about water bill outstanding. 2 months after leaving the property, agent coming back with outstanding water bill part of landlord's maintenance fees, which need to be paid out. While enquiring they advised, it was not mentioned clearly to me, however this is outstanding water bill need to be cleared in time. I would have not signed the agreement at the first place if this was clearly mentioned to me at the beginning. So must say, stay away from this company.
