BEWARE of their absolutely ludicrous contracts when selling, we were first time sellers have been trapped in for the last 6 months with a hidden extra 28 days bonus. - A bad experience from start to finish ranging from bookings continually not showing up, to the estate agents bringing the wrong keys and unable to even get in. Amateur at best and a steep learning curve.

Might just be the Saturday staff but we showed up for our first viewing expecting to meet one of the staff. There was no one there so the owner stsrtst to show us around and when an agent showed up it happened to just be by coincidence and that he wasn't avtiactu supposed to be there. It felt very strange. He hardly said a word to us or what his name was. We were then sent off for our second viewing with them where he said his colleague was going to meet us. This guy was clearly hungover and smelt slightly like alcohol and could not be less bothered about showing us the property. And we were supposed to have three viewings with this guy. At the last place we just said we wanted to skip it since we felt that the houses they showed us was not at all what we wanted (we had only shown interest in the first property, the other three were chosen by the estate agent). I have never in my whole life seen anyone getting into his car and leaving as quickly as that guy. He clearly was very happy he didn't have to show us the last property since he failed to tell the owner we weren't going to see it. Safe to say, if a property is for sale by chancellors I will most likely not show interested in it (I've viewed properties with other chancellors offices and had similar experiences) and I would definitely not sell my property with them since they do not send the good sales people out.....

Very dishonest and unprofessional letting agents - possibly the worst of all. They have no clue what they are doing. Being a landlord for 10 years, I have never seen anyone like them and would definitely avoid them at all costs. Unfortunately, I had to learn it the hard way which costed me 2 months rent and loss of personal time chasing rent arrears from a tenant all because of their fault which they agreed to but gone back on it and denied to pay the losses.

during the Six months of our tenancy Chancellors have managed to consistently beat their own low standards of customer service time and time again, frankly it’s been easily the worst experience we have ever had from any company ever, and really considering the competition that is some going. However through an almost dogged determination to screw up even the smallest details their apparently handpicked team of helmet wearing, crayon eating, window licking, retards managed outstanding and amazingly consistent levels of incompetence and rudeness that are in my experience unequaled. To be quite honest almost every interaction with Chancellors was frankly eye wateringly painful, and despite the fact it cost us a considerable sum to move we couldn’t be happier that we will never have to deal with you or your flock of half-witted incompetents again. I have to admit I went through the entire gamut of emotions during the short time we have had to deal with them, starting most obviously with Anger and moving through Confusion, Disenchantment, Disbelief and finally this kind of dazed relief that it’s nearly over, although I am still amazed that they are managing to continue to operate. A quick Google search reveals that I’m clearly not in alone with my view of their “service” here are the First Two links returned when you search on “chancellors estate agents review” http://www.allagents.co.uk/chancellors/ http://www.qype.co.uk/place/832095-Chancellors-Oxford Please also note they are currently ranked 9999 out of 11648 and in my humble opinion that’s too high. Disgusting creatures, fake smiles and lies, first time sellers, chancellors have tried to trap us with a sole selling rights contract. When I attempted to amend the contact within my 14 day cooling off period I was purposely ignored. Over valued the house and wasted every appointment they made. Absolute amateurs, deceitful horrible humans.

Worst possible service. Our experience with Chancellors has been absolutely terrible. From day one, the agent booked the viewing on the house for the wrong time, sent conflicting information, which resulted in my partner waiting for 2 hours under the rain. Once in the property, he made me false promises regarding the price of the property, the chance of getting a dryer, and a place to lock our bikes. He encouraged us to make an offer according to his false promises, which came back denied after almost a month! He then acted as if the offer was denied because we asked for unreasonable things, and was very threatening with regards with us losing the chance to ever secure the property. The entire process, with all its back and forth lies, took over 5 months. Chancellors rarely replied to our emails promptly, or picked up the phone. We were told many times that he wasn't in the office, so had to wait weeks for any information. After signing the contract, we weren't given any information at all for 3 weeks. We called repeatably and were told neither the relevant staff weren't in the office, but promised someone would call that day. No one called for 3 weeks. After all that time, we finally got a call from an agent apologising, for she had been on holiday. Minimum decency and respect would have required them to inform us, upon signing of the contract, that we wouldn't hear back for weeks. They were then very fast in demanding payment of the initial monies, even though per the contract this is only demanded three working days before the move in date, so that the money gets to the account on time. Everything was demanded of us, but we were shown no respect, consideration, or good faith. Moreover, we paid almost £4,000 in advance, including a ridiculous amount of £373 in fees for the worst service I ever received. Of these, £53 were hidden fees that the agent didn't reveal until the last possible opportunity, and were not mentioned in any of the documents we signed. Still, we were made to pay it. Lastly, in order to be given the keys by the check-in team on move-in day, we were given a business rate number to ring, which also costed us money. Chancellors has taken every opportunity to take money from us, while providing a disgraceful service. I feel that Chancellors treated us utterly disrespectfully, taking advantage of our status of students (of the University of Oxford). The process and dealing with the agents was an awfully stressful experience, and we wouldn't recommend this person or agency to my worst enemy. After posting a similar review on their website, Chancellors removed it. They then proceeded to ring me and claim that I was lying about everything. We have proof in emails so their accusation that we lied is demonstrably false. Please share this review so nobody else has to experience renting with Chancellors.

The worst ever agency I've ever deal with.Absolute unprofessional and unkind attitude.For six months contract i have around 200 useless emails and still can't get my deposit back after 1 month and a half. Never get a property trough Chancellors agency. There is forum group with around 200 Bulgarian families around the area and i keep advising them never use this agency.Unprofessional continuous failure to do all task.And it's not just me 90% unhappy.What an agency why you are still on the market how?

Stop cold calling and emailing former property owners who stopped using you to manage their property years ago because of your shoddy service, saying you have someone urgently in need of a rental property.
