Very professional and friendly team. Completely understood my situation, working from home. Good communication throughout. Was not often I had to chase them for feed back. Would certainly recommend them or use them again in the future.

I had an extremely frustrating experience while attempting to purchase a probate property through Michael Anthony. The entire process was poorly managed, and their approach to selling probate properties needs serious improvement. Throughout the transaction, multiple members of staff were involved, leading to inconsistent communication and a lack of accountability. I had to chase them repeatedly for updates, only to be informed—after a full 12 months—that the probate had been rejected. This was a major disappointment, made worse by the fact that I was assured by the director that they would stay in touch. However, it has now been six months, and I have heard absolutely nothing. Not only did they fail to follow up, but they also made no effort to assist me in finding alternative properties or provide any form of support after the sale fell through. This level of service is unacceptable, and I would strongly urge them to reconsider how they handle probate sales and customer relations in general.

Dear David, we have tried to contact you regarding your review, I am sorry you felt that you had been both mis led and not updated fully with regards the probate issues. This was certainly not our intention and looking at the file notes I can see that we had kept you informed with the very difficult situation the seller found themselves in. In all my years of selling properties where a grant of probate was required, this was the first and only time I have ever known a grant of probate to be refused. As told to you at the time, neither the sellers nor their solicitor could have envisaged that this would happen. As fully explained to you at the time, the probate was refused as the ownership could not be proved, resulting in the house being removed from the market and potentially being given to the state. You were advised by me at the time that this meant the house could not be sold then or at any time in the foreseeable future. I also informed you that we unfortunately had nothing else that was similar in price or location and that is probably still the case as these properties are very rare. So again, my apologies if you feel we didn’t help in your search for an alternative house, I can assure if we had anything you would have been top of our list to call. I hope this goes some way to answer your comments, but again I apologise if you have felt the service we offered was not satisfactory. Stephen Swindlehurst Director

Wouldn’t let me view homes as apparently sold!! Why have them on rightmove?? Would not take my details as I have a house to sell , very dismissive and a couldn’t care less approach, clearly don’t need the customers

The reason a property will have still been listed on Rightmove is that the sale would have only been recently agreed and we are waiting for the buyers to provide solicitors and ID to allow us to remove the property from the market. I made the mistake of using this company to sell my home and what a mistake that was! I found them very professional on first contact and they put me at ease in trusting them to sell my home then it really was downhill from there. It was impossible to ever speak to anyone always told would get a phone call back which never happened the only communication I ever received was going to the office personally. With various issues that arose which I understand things can go wrong sometimes they always made it someone else’s fault and would take no responsibility to fix. When house sell was on verge of collapse never made any effort to resolve it and left it for other agents in the chain to make sure it didn’t collapse. I would certainly NOT recommend this company and would use another local company even though there commission fees are higher.

Engaged to purchase my first house. I set a maximum purchase of 156,000. This was pushing my budget to the limit. The agent was fully aware of this. He put in a bid for 157,000 for the house, which was accepted. This was without any consultation with me. When challenged over this would only state that he knew I wanted the house. I complained to the manager of the office, who quashed the complaint, stating that he had knew the agent for a while and he wouldn't have done this. Made an offer to me of an open check on services. I asked what this would actually cover and he told me nothing.
