Was told sale was agreed. I cancelled other viewings. Was hassled into paying solicitors fees to get ball rolling. As soon as I did sale fell through as a higher offer Was received so wasted money . If they hadn't hassled I wouldn't have paid solicitors fees so quick and not lost money so won't go near again now

Good Afternoon Nicholas, Thank you for taking the time to speak with me earlier, I truly appreciate your honesty and understand your frustration with the situation. I hope I was able to clarify that we must operate professionally and within the guidelines that govern our industry. While I completely agree it’s frustrating when things like this happen, I want to reassure you that we acted properly and in line with our obligations. You’re right in noting that auction can sometimes provide a more secure route to purchase, particularly when looking to avoid similar issues in the future. However, it’s important to be aware that the auction process often requires a financial commitment prior to the exchange of contracts and may not be suitable in all cases. With private treaty sales in England, unfortunately, the transaction is not legally binding until contracts are exchanged. That’s why we requested that you instruct a solicitor, it enables us to issue the memorandum of sale and initiate the legal process. Without this step, the purchase cannot progress towards a binding agreement. I completely understand that your comments came from a place of disappointment. I hope, in time, you’ll see that DDM Residential acted with professionalism throughout. Should a suitable property become available, we’d be very pleased to support you with your next purchase. Please don’t hesitate to contact me directly if you have any questions or if there's anything we can do to assist moving forward. Best Regards Craig Stones Regional Director

Following the purchase of a property through DDM at the end of March I was asked to review my experience although I wasn’t certain I would as my thoughts of their service are mixed. My experience with DDM began at the first viewing where the agent was clearly disinterested and actually left the tenant to show us around the property. Nevertheless, I ended up putting an offer in on the property which was accepted. At this stage I requested that we arrange a second viewing in a couple of weeks once the searches were back, but seemed to hit a brick wall with this.Anyway, then Coronavirus came along and put us all in lockdown. I explained several times that I was not buying the house without a second viewing and despite waiting over a month and chasing on multiple occasions I still didn’t have a viewing and Seller was getting agitated at me!At this point Zoe took over, she was extremely helpful and I could not fault her service. Naturally there were some obstacles with the Virus but my Solicitors (shout out to BG) managed to negotiate in the end. This is when we found the property in an absolute state. After speaking with my Solicitor we did manage to reclaim some costs from the tenants deposit and Jo in DDM lettings was very quick to respond, explain the whole process and to negotiate a settlement in this respect. The floorplan was incorrect and not all measurements were given. As the property was let by DDM there are naturally some things you would expect such as working smoke alarms, gas safety reports and Electric Reports, none of which were provided by the seller and the electric reports were probably not carried out as the electrics in the property were dangerous. The stop tap in the kitchen leaked everywhere and destroyed the kitchen cabinets and the floor. Athough this is more the Sellers dispute with the lettings team.In these unprecedented times it is only natural that errors occur and there are new ways of working but a lot was left to be desired and I would not choose to use DDM when it comes to reselling the property in the future.

Incompetent Staff looking at the reviews obviously home owners come way above tenants rights. The ordeal you have to go through to rent from these is shocking Credit checks . Guarantor . Work references. Fair enough. But not given the correct details all at the same ... Not interested in the fact that the tenant has worked 25 years and never missed a rent payment . One bad credit strike and was refused But took the holding deposit anyway. Weazles. Much better estate agents out there. You don't have to have any qualifications to be an estate agent..... which obviously shows. Estate agents . Not people agents

Good Evening Donna. I would happily discuss this further with you tomorrow to see if we can get something sorted. Without knowing all the facts first I don't want to make any promises. Are you available to discuss tomorrow?

I've heard they use gas and care to do plumbing work, which illustrates that they don't care about their property or the people in them. Gas and care will leave you without heating, and leave leaks everywhere, so why are these people using them?

The initial judgemental untowards attitude of the staff dealt with in Barton. Nothing but problems getting stuff sorted. Not pro active at all
