Do not use this company. I've amended this comment in reference to yours. Actually the lead tenant my ex partner left without notice - nothing to do with me as we had split up in Feb 2015 and I had vacated the property and provided evidence of this to yourselves. All payments were made in full to yourselves when I resided in that property were they not? My issue was that I think another deposit should have been taken from him and mine returned as you allowed him to sublet the property. I showed David evidence of text messages from my ex partner that he had someone else living there which was not part of the tenancy agreement. My deposit was taken for the lead tenants mistakes simply because you knew he wouldn't put another one down although David had a meeting with me and promised to get a deposit from him. The reason this review was giving in 2017 when our last dealing was in 2015 was because I was searching as estate agency in Derby. Saw yours come up and it offered me to write a review so I did!!!
left the property early, paid full re-letting fee even though it was only three months to the end of my contract. only to find out that they have listed the property in the market as available at the date that my actual tenancy runs out rather than "available Immediately", so that they can charge the landlord full re-letting fee in three months. I called them to see why they have done that and they changed the dates immediately to "available now" and outright denied such thing has happened.
Hi David , it's gary morrison owner of the littlecobbler Iam still waiting for payment for the keys I've cut for you Iam sure there must be a genuine reason for this - many thanks gary- Hi David - you have had two invoice books of key cutting done by me since early march- you have assured me on several occasions that you would settle this account - many thanks gary at the littlecobbler
Appalling customer service. You'll probably do better with any other agent in Derby. I was a tenant at one of their houses. From the very beginning, it's been an awful experience. It was a late start to the initial house visit because the agent didn't bring the right keys with him. He couldn't answer questions regarding the house nor the contract. When I went to their office to sign the contract, they weren't fully prepared with all the documents. There were also so many hidden expenses which was frustrating. Luckily, I had a fantastic landlord, whom I dealt with directly for the next few months. Finally, when it came to moving houses, it took Martin & Co nearly three months to get my deposit back to me! I had to keep calling them to remind them about it, as it didn't feel like it was a priority to them. A shocking experience! They came across as very lackadaisical and unprofessional. I have dealt with a number of agents in the past. Martin & Co were undoubtedly the worst in terms of customer service!

LANDLORDS AVOID AT ALL COSTS , these clowns are an utter disgrace to this industry, managed by Ronald McDonald aka David McKnight they have supposedly managed my house for the last 2yrs. You get the usual bull with this lot, phone calls not returned, inspection reports not sent out etc etc but for no extra cost you will have your house returned in a filthy state not fit for human habitation, however Mr McKnight attempted to advertise and re let the property without my knowledge, I was informed by neighbours and the tenant that they were leaving and To Let signs had been placed at the front of the property The final inspection was attended by the man himself, now the tenants had made feeble attempts to make repairs including a splash of paint to cover water damaged ceilings, glueing the towel rail to the wall as it had been pulled off, the house itself reeked of I don't know what, carpets were vile, radiator covers all missing I presume damaged and 16 of the 23 lights had no bulbs and this pillock was prepared to put another family in the house in that state!!. During this final inspection I voiced my concerns to McKnight regarding the state of my house and why nothing was pulled up in the inspections they supposedly did, he hit this out of the ball park ...... I was told that they don't actually look at the property they look for marijuana!! I can only assume he is addicted to the stuff and it's affected his state of mind!! As far as I'm aware the monthly fee was paid as a management fee not for drug searches I'm sure the police do those for free My house was returned to me in a disgusting state by the tenants and the 'management' company Martin and Co,over Christmas it cost me and my young family countless hours and over £1500 to put the house back in order. The only positive to come out of this is that David McKnight didn't get the chance to Let that property again As I have to give one one star it goes to Deanna in the office who was always polite and helpful
