Mixed reviews of Martin and Co at first when recently renting a property. There were some maintenance issues which should have been sorted before our move in date but weren't therefore disrupting us somewhat during our move in. However the service from the Customer Service Team has been great, cannot fault them and their professionalism.
Called to inform contractors smoking weed on premises which was making my house stink. Guy on phone was not at all interested. Called back next day, got through to a very nice woman who was apologetic, explained the plan and acted. However the warning from property owner did not stop contractor from smoking weed on site, so I called again and the lady stated she would act again. Only time will tell if the message got through. If not, plan B
We had a pretty rough move in. No heating or electricity for several very cold days, followed by ongoing issues for the first month. The flat was definitely not left in the state expected when vacating. I was previously renting from another Martin & Co branch who gave us a long list of things to do before moving out. Almost none of this was done for the flat we moved in to. If the tenants weren't willing to do it, I would expect a portion of their deposit to go towards it. Sopme parts of the flat were honestly vile and didn't appear to have a proper inspection. With many inquiries they appeared quite clueless. Replying with formalities rather than resolutions. I would often be given deadlines for when to expect certain visits or calls, then those dates would pass and I wouldn't be updated on anything. Always having to chase thnigs up myself. One saving grace, when compared to other places I have rented, is the contractor. We had a recent visit to fix up a few things after moving in. He's great, fixed everything we asked for to a high standard and even took a look at a few extra things while he was here. Timely, professional, easy communication. Thanks for all the help Rob!
