We have used Northwood for several years and have found them to be very professional in all they do. In addition they are friendly and approachable. I would especially like to mention the maintenance department whom manage any issue small or large efficiently and with a smile. Thanks to Ben and his Team for assisting with purchase of my first property. Though the process went over a year, yet Ben kept being involved and surely gave all support to get the purchase completed. While renting, they were lovely people, very well prepared and willing to help. Quick response regarding the issue we had. Of course they tried to charge us for stains on the carpet that were already there. £240 Good thing I took pictures from the beginning and also emailed them as well but, as any other agency, they are trying to charge you as much as possible for any little thing. My advise, if you’re renting, take pictures of any defects and email them to the agency. On top of it, after check out, I received an Amazon package at the old address. I contacted Northwood Crawley and spoke with an agent at the office. They treated me with absolute disregard speaking with me but without looking at me. I went outside the office and told my wife to forget about the package. Northwood never contacted me even though the package was visible for weeks inside the house.PositiveProfessionalism

One year after having left the property we rented, I am still in shock at how Northwood made our time in Crawley miserable. Here are some events that we experienced throughout our 4.5 years renting in Crawley: - Spent an ENTIRE winter with a newborn without heat. Northwood took every attempt to avoid replacing the boiler until it was obvious it required replacement. - We suffered from huge mold issues on the upper floor. Northwood’s kept blaming us and telling us that we were not opening the windows despite the landlord’s acknowledgement of the issue. This caused allergies on most of the family which are gone now that we moved property. - Northwood increased Rent on a yearly basis using their “experts” to assess the value of the house. Well their expert used the neighbor’s house as a benchmark who had indeed the same house size but omitted that: o He had negotiated the price down o His house had a fully equipped kitchen o His house had a garage Now, the worrying part is that one year after leaving the property, we were sent the cancellation documents of the next renters, including personal info’s. I had then a look at Northwood’s website to see our previous property. The pictures shown were those used to present our property when we moved in 6 years ago… That being said and on a positive note, Northwood had been very helpful when it was time for us to move out. Taking this into account, I wish I had taken the decision much earlier. Indeed, having left Northwood has proven to be such a relief on all the family. Our new agency has the decency to rent good property and provide an excellent service when needed.

Tatiana Delacroix, it's upsetting to hear that you did not receive the top-notch service we strive to provide. Having looked into the details within your review I can see that the boiler has not been replaced and the current tenant to date has not reported any issues with the boiler at all. The only issue that you reported to us regarding the heating was raised in December 2017 and was resolved by January 2018, there were contributing factors meaning the boiler was working intermittently during this period so the contractor had to attend and repair several minor issues. With regards to the damp unfortunately 9/10 cases are as a result of the way that Tenants are living within the property. We issue 'Damp Prevention Guides' at the start of each tenancy and then again at renewal stage for this reason. It is very rare for there to actually be an issue with the property and our current Tenant is not experiencing the same issues that you were whilst in tenancy. With regards to the rent increases the Landlord is entitled to increase the rent on a annual basis in line with the current market conditions. Tenants are able to refuse the increase however that can often lead to notice being issued to the Tenant. As a managing agent of a small estate, hopeless, no contacts, no answering phone calls or emails, no annual inspection, no help with contractors. One star is more than they deserve, hopefully they will not be managing us for much longer.
