After a slow start selling CJ Hole came into their own during the sale; good communication and advice, patient with the buyers and helped close the deal. Dealt with various staff and they felt like a cohesive team at all times. Recommended!

C j Hole sold our house for us in Autumn 2022. The photographs and publicity was good ; contact about viewings was good . The house didn’t sell as quickly as we had all hoped which I would put down to the market rather than the estate agent - around this time it felt like we had to make a lot of contact to get a response and there was not as good communication as we would have liked. Once we got an offer they advised us well and were really good again at helping us move to a deadline and making sure the whole chain kept moving . Overall a good experience

Thank you to Tim, Kate and the team for getting us over the line with our house purchase. For what can usually be a very long process we had our offer accepted and went on to exchange in just under 3 months. Kate was very approachable and personable and dealt with our purchase well. She kept us updated throughout - even with a tricky situation at the top of the chain. Our only request would be that CJ Hole develop an online system and dashboard for buyers so that we could check for updates ourselves. This would take the pressure off being available for phonecalls or checking for emails. But this is not a reflection on Kate - just a suggestion for the company!

We sold our house through CJ Hole last year and Lorraine was absolutely amazing. She kept things moving, chasing all the parties in the chain, always knew exactly what was happening and was great at keeping us informed. We were certainly hard-work clients, with one failed sale and two failed purchases, but she stuck with us throughout and got us to our desired pre-Christmas completion. I don't think we could have done it without her! Lorraine is absolutely 5 stars; I've only given a 4-star rating just because some of the other agents who we initially dealt with during our viewings didn't have quite the same level of efficiency or enthusiasm.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

My sale had a lot of hiccups

My sale had a lot of hiccups along the way and as a result confirming exchange and completion became a major problem. Cleo worked so hard to get the chain to completion and without her pro-active efforts I doubt it would have happened. She was extremely patient but also knew when it was time to be assertive.

I wasn’t going to leave a review, but it might help prevent anyone else from going through the same experience as me. I appointed CJ Hole to market my property, because of their positive reviews on here. However, sadly this was not the experience I have had. George came round to value my property and to be fair he was absolutely fine. Once the property was listed however, I rarely spoke to George and was now expected to deal with very junior estate agents, who didn’t have the maturity, social skills or listening skills to sell a property nor communicate with sellers and buyers. The way I was spoken to by some of the junior estate agents, was completely unacceptable. I am aware this branch, along with Henleaze, are used to selling properties worth a lot more money than mine. It felt like because I only had a flat to sell, I was fobbed off with the most junior estate agents, who didn’t really know what they were doing. From the start huge mistakes were made. Firstly, the wrong description was listed against my property. The description was for a 3 bed house with conservatory and garden. My property is a 2 bed flat with no conservatory or garden. This was hugely detrimental to my sale, as understandably a lot of potential buyers viewing the property were extremely disappointed. It was originally correct, but was edited to the wrong description at some point. I was rang to say I had had an offer on my property, only to realise 10 minutes into the conversation he had rang the wrong person and the offer wasn’t even on my property. I was rang and lead to believe there was a male outside my property trying to gain access to the building, claiming he was my husband. I’m single and live alone, so this was understandably extremely stressful and concerning for me. After some investigation, they realised they had rang the wrong person again and there hadn’t been anyone outside claiming to be my husband at all. They were telling potential buyers during viewings that I didn’t have a chain and was moving in with a boyfriend. This wasn’t true. I know estate agents can be incredibly dishonest and maybe this is normal, but it didn’t sit comfortably with me. When I brought these mistakes to George’s attention, it was put down to human error. I understand that mistakes happen, but the amount of mistakes that were made in a very short period of time, did not fill me with trust or confidence. Especially when you are paying for a service, you want to be reassured that service is honest, competent and professional. I think if you deal with one of the older, more experienced estate agents you’ll have a different experience. Sam was always polite and friendly and Dan was more knowledgable and appeared to have a lot more experience. A lot of the estate agents being mentioned in the positive reviews, I’ve never even heard of so I was obviously appointed less experienced estate agents. I didn’t feel any of my concerns were taken seriously or properly addressed. I therefore made the decision to take my property off the market with CJ Hole and list with a different estate agents. I feel sad that my experience with CJ Hole was so negative, but I wanted to write an honest review to stop this situation happening to anyone else.

Having discussed your concerns at the time and again since you’ve posted the review, regrettably there were some errors that had been made to the marketing material and a couple of unfortunate miscommunications across the team that were immediately looked into and rectified. We completely respect your decision to withdraw your property from the market with CJ Hole, having willingly released you from your contract a week early in recognition of your dissatisfaction. It is a great shame that we were not able to re-establish our working relationship whilst continuing to market your property, but having found, achieved, and accepted a good offer after many viewings on your property, we felt we were all ready to move forwards, towards exchange.
