I was really impressed and happy with the service provided by Intercounty at the beginning of the sale. William did a great job at selling, and my property sold really quickly. The communication at this point was also fantastic, with Will calling to confirm different bits and pieces. However the after sale with Doug was disappointing to say the least. I heard nothing from them for 2 and a half weeks after the sale was agreed, all information was received through my solicitor, who has been fantastic throughout. The communication I have had has been slow and pushed from me, I have had at least 3 phone calls not returned, meaning I have had to consistently follow up on inquiries. The information Doug did have was often outdated and not new information or on a couple of occasions incorrect. The sale should have been quick and easy, unfortunately what should and could have been completed in 6/7 weeks took 10 weeks. I believe this was in part down to the slowness of the after sales team. Thankfully William sold my property and the sale has now been completed, however for the high fee charged and the poor after sales communication I would be hesitant to use them again.

We are really disappointed to read what wonderful service everyone seems to have had from Inter County BS as this was not our experience at all! The communication was dreadful, Doug the "super progressor" only contacted us once and got all the information wrong, after which we didn't hear from him again & were told he was usually good but was snowed under, not our problem! The Branch Manager took over our account but wasn't much better and eventually we were "helped" by the Area Director. When we complained we were offered a paltry amount of compensation considering the fee charged & the lack of support we received. I would say that if you are lucky you might get good service, we were obviously unlucky and ended up doing most of the sorting out & chasing ourselves! We were VERY disappointed with the service we received so in all honesty couldn't recommend them.

At start all same well and friendly. However when we started to ask questions and wanted answers it seem that we were being too difficult. Refusal to relate our issues across or pass our requests to vendor. All these showed up after we exchanged. Unfortunately we used their associate Lawers made things even worse for us. They clearly sided with each other influenced by personal issue's. Very unprofessional to the point that we gave in to vendors request each time. Once visited was agreed, met vendor at address with family member who gave us tought time. I felt we were set up and thrown into a situation, just a day before we took the keys. I'm now left with a house and feeling let down by estate agents. No sense of happy feeling currently, big Mistake using Intercounty at all. They need to deal with cases fairly terrible ordeal.

I have given a 2 star review not because or how Doug conducted himself but the way the company as a whole dealt with a Divorce settlement sale. would not be recommending Inter County as a go to estate agent in Bishops Stortford. the smaller firms are much more friendly and customer focused

A COMPLETE DISASTER IN EVERY WAY I am writing to share my experience with this estate agency, Intercounty Bishops Stortford, and it has been nothing short of disastrous. From the very beginning, the agency proved to be extremely disorganized. The staff showed no communication among themselves, leaving us constantly bombarded with irrelevant emails that had nothing to do with our tenancy. On top of that, their attitude was consistently condescending. Whenever we requested information, the responses we received carried an air of superiority. I genuinely felt that, because we are Spanish, we were treated with less respect than British clients. This behavior was not only unprofessional but also deeply offensive. The worst part came at the end of the tenancy. We left the flat in immaculate condition—spotless, tidy, and perfectly maintained. Despite this, the agency withheld a significant portion of our deposit. They claimed £446 for cleaning and an additional £110 for carpet cleaning, charges that were completely manufactured since the property was already in pristine condition. When we challenged this, their only response was to suggest we open a dispute with Mydeposit, knowing full well that this would only drag the process out and cause further frustration. To conclude, I strongly advise: DO NOT RENT FROM THIS AGENCY if you value your deposit, your time, and being treated with basic respect. Their arrogance, lack of professionalism, and dishonest practices make them an agency to avoid at all costs. Damage deposits are the tenants money until an agreement is reached with all parties to release the funds. The mediation from MyDeposits is in place to ensure these matters are dealt with fairly & where landlords are requesting unfair amounts, they are not awarded. Please be assured we act in a professional and transparent manner at all times. If you are unable to come to an agreement with your landlord, the MyDeposits adjudication service would have been the best way to try to get your monies returned. Only the disputed amount is held whilst the dispute takes place, so the remainder would have been released, whilst the investigation was carried out.
