I wanted to make this as honest as possible from our experience. We had rented through them for 6 months. The positives first. Everything was smooth and easy in the initial move in process, no issues there. Every time we called Belvoir, the team were so lovely. They were always friendly and easy to chat with. They would leave us feeling assured we'd been heard which was great. Sadly, this is where our positives end. The biggest area of feedback would be in the ongoing communication. There were countless emails and phone calls trying to arrange for things to be fixed in the property. And I say countless because we'd be assured it would be sorted and weeks later we would have to follow up with emails, receiving no responses and then weeks after that, we would call and sadly things just took a very long time. We've rented in other places and not had this experience before, so don't feel it's a "this is just how it is" kind of thing. Mold in the property was a big issue and it was only once we'd emailed to say we wouldn't be renewing our tenancy at month 5 that we got an email saying they would try to sort it. Another example was calling within the first week to ask for a welcome pack to the property and for a recycling bin. 6 months of asking for these and being told we'd receive them and sadly not, left us feeling unheard. Personally we wouldn't recommend Belvoir based on our experience.
I would give 0 starts if I could after my interactions with the branch manager Joanne. I will also be making a formal compliant as her behaviour was unacceptable. To cut a long story short I was an existing tenant and I handed in my notice for the end of August (31st). There is the usual check out process which the landlord penciled in a PROVISIONAL date of the 30th; I could only confirm this date once my completion date for the property I was purchasing was set. The landlord agreed and at this time I had no contact with the estate agent. On the 27th, I was informed the completion date would be pushed back by a week so I informed my landlord who asked me to contact the managing agents, Belvoir. Bearing in mind, the date of the 30th was provisionally booked and not once did Belvoir contact me to confirm this date. I of course have a legal right to stay in the property until the 31st as I have paid for that months rent. It comes to my attention that Belvoir agreed with a new tenant and didn't think to tell me that the 30th was the final checkout date. This of course has major implication to me as I would effectively be homeless (until I pick up my new keys) despite having a LEGAL right to remain until the 31st Aug. coincidentally, the 31st was a Saturday and Belvoir refused to complete a checkout on the weekend, which is not my problem. The tenant had also ordered furniture on the 30th meaning I was effectively forced out of the property. Despite no legal obligation for me to exit the property before the 30, I reluctantly agreed to have my belongings moved before the 30th (when the new tenant moves in, the tenant would book me a hotel) however the removal company that I had booked had an issue and as a result, I asked if I could remain at the property until the 31st as per my legal right. With this being completely out of my control, I Informed Joanne of the circumstances and she outright refused to accept any scenario in which I can stay within the property until the 31st; citing a number of lies which include: my checkout having to be on the 31st by noon (which is incorrect), that it was my problem that the 31st is a weekend and therefore I would have to leave the property to the date nearest business day to the 31st (again not true), and throughout this entire conversation she was unbelievably rude, shouting at me and saying she's working on her day off (again nothing to do with me) and out right not letting me talk or propose any plans to try and make this work. Absurd level of professionalism and even more shocking is that she is a branch manager. Anyone reading this as a potential landlord or tenant, be advised they are rude and will force anything to work their way.
Horrible experience . I was at the property for viewing, but i couldn't find the agent.tried to call the agent multiple time nobody attended the call neither the agent or their office staff. wasted my 30 minutes.
Shocking ways of dealing with tenants, you ask them (with receipt) to pay you back on a job you had to do out of pocket and they refuse to acknowledge the issue therefore you’re forced to call them continuously for feedback! Cowboys
One of the worse estate agents going. Numerous calls, never any answer, they don’t return calls or voicemails. Landlords, home owners and tenants avoid!!
Brilliant when accepting the property and going through referencing stage. But after that, absolutely shocking. No wonder they give you a care package, I thought as soon as I received it, it was a gift to butter us up. How right I was. They like to lie, I will never use this company again. Very dishonest. Avoid at all costs, seriously not worth it. I would give no stars if I could. Branch manager Joanne Cohen is a horrible condescending piece of work also. Would also like to add. Upon moving into the property, I noticed how scruffy it was. Pubes on the bathroom tiles, skid marks in the toilet. A massive streak of dirt on the carpet. Oven thick with grease. I could go on. There are much better letting agencies in Ashton. Please do not use these cowboys.
