I would give 0 starts if I could after my interactions with the branch manager Joanne. I will also be making a formal compliant as her behaviour was unacceptable. To cut a long story short I was an existing tenant and I handed in my notice for the end of August (31st). There is the usual check out process which the landlord penciled in a PROVISIONAL date of the 30th; I could only confirm this date once my completion date for the property I was purchasing was set. The landlord agreed and at this time I had no contact with the estate agent. On the 27th, I was informed the completion date would be pushed back by a week so I informed my landlord who asked me to contact the managing agents, Belvoir. Bearing in mind, the date of the 30th was provisionally booked and not once did Belvoir contact me to confirm this date. I of course have a legal right to stay in the property until the 31st as I have paid for that months rent. It comes to my attention that Belvoir agreed with a new tenant and didn't think to tell me that the 30th was the final checkout date. This of course has major implication to me as I would effectively be homeless (until I pick up my new keys) despite having a LEGAL right to remain until the 31st Aug. coincidentally, the 31st was a Saturday and Belvoir refused to complete a checkout on the weekend, which is not my problem. The tenant had also ordered furniture on the 30th meaning I was effectively forced out of the property. Despite no legal obligation for me to exit the property before the 30, I reluctantly agreed to have my belongings moved before the 30th (when the new tenant moves in, the tenant would book me a hotel) however the removal company that I had booked had an issue and as a result, I asked if I could remain at the property until the 31st as per my legal right. With this being completely out of my control, I Informed Joanne of the circumstances and she outright refused to accept any scenario in which I can stay within the property until the 31st; citing a number of lies which include: my checkout having to be on the 31st by noon (which is incorrect), that it was my problem that the 31st is a weekend and therefore I would have to leave the property to the date nearest business day to the 31st (again not true), and throughout this entire conversation she was unbelievably rude, shouting at me and saying she's working on her day off (again nothing to do with me) and out right not letting me talk or propose any plans to try and make this work. Absurd level of professionalism and even more shocking is that she is a branch manager. Anyone reading this as a potential landlord or tenant, be advised they are rude and will force anything to work their way.
