I have waited to write this review till our house sale went through with another agent. Here we go! We first used Stevens and Carters to list our house and the communication we received was absolutely terrible. Selling a house and buying another one should be an exciting time however in our instance it wasn’t 6 weeks into the process the few people we had come to look at the property were not in a proceedable position. We felt a bit of a loss about it all having seen houses sell in our area I made a trip into the office to discuss how we moved forward and was met with a very negative response. Yes I understand that they might be the market leaders in the area but that was not what I wanted to hear feeling very frustrated by the lack of communication we were receiving. We decided to move over to another estate agents and was met with a few very choice emails when giving our notice to Stevens and Carters. Within a week of putting our house on the market with the new estate agents we have sold it and completed within 11 weeks.
We put offer in land at cowlersley lane, huddersfield and after our all paperwork they call and send in written say our offer is accepted and send paper work to our solicitor and we paid our solicitor and they took house from sale and after week Mr Charlie Brow rang us saying they got another 2 offers more than ours we list 2000 pounds and very disappointed by Ryder and Dunton I advise all clear this with them before pay its not professional look like doing bad practice
A very poor experience and my seller ended up going with someone else who offered her more money despite me paying nearly £1000 for a survey and not once backing out. I am giving 1 star to Calum because he was polite and friendly but I can honestly say I got a better service from the charity shop next door.
I’d like you to thank Willow for her support over the last few months for a purchase that was far from smooth. Willow certainly went the extra mile and kept us informed at all times, providing guidance and advice where appropriate. An absolute star! However……. We were wrongly informed on the second viewing (not by Willow) that the loft was boarded and was fitted with a ladder and light. Transpires this is totally incorrect! Thank you for the response regarding my frustrations……that doesn’t help in the slightest. I’ll be contacting the senior team shortly with reference to this and a number of other issues.
Shocking..made an offer for a house on scar lane sales assistant Oliver who called me back and told me that my offer had been ACCEPTED l then returned my proof of funds ect arranged for a solicitor all ready to go..two days later Oliver the sales man called me to say that it might take longer for the sale to complete because the vendor needed to sort out probate and had two more viewings for the house at the weekend ?? Oliver said that he would not be able to speak to me for a few days as he will be on annual leave ( very convenient) a few days later I got a call to say that a higher offer had been accepted for the house and the house had now been sold I am sure gazumping is not law breaking but I do ask is this good business??
Made enquiry to Irthlingborourgh office about a property for my son and got awful attitude from arrogant sales negotiator who ended the conversation just putting the phone down. Will be selling our own property in a few months time and because of this woman's attitude certainly won't be using this agent.
All was well until one day when speaking to Alison she forgot to put me on mute and used foul language when I asked her to ring someone else directly and before anyone asks I had never been and never was rude, totally uncalled for and totally unprofessional, makes you wonder how they talk about their clients, will never use again, very disappointed
The experience we have had with Fine and Country Bury St Edmunds can only be described as shambolic. Our journey started when the valuer came to the property and gave us a market valuation which we agreed with and subsequently instructed them to sell the property. The agency agreement was signed and we had to wait for the branch manager to visit and take full details and photos. Upon his visit he said he did not agree with the valuation price and advised we marketed it a lower price. We were somewhat alarmed by this as we could not understand how two people from the same office could value the same property in the region of £50,000 different. We discussed this in depth and came to an agreement. When intially discussing the marketing of the property we asked how many potential buyers they had on their mailing list who would match the property and we were told 14. Two weeks in we had heard nothing so we contacted the office to find out if there was any feedback from the potential 14 matches to be told "when we told them it had a small garden they were not interested" We were somewhat shocked by this as although the garden is not huge it is not a postage stamp and we would have hoped that as our agent they would be focusing on the positives to get people through the door. Time passed and we arranged for a "mystery shop" call to be made and the outcome of this was nothing but unbelievable. Our caller asked what properties they had 15 miles of Bury St Edmunds and explaing the criteria required which matched our property to be told they had no properties which fitted. When further asked about our property which had been seen on Right Move our caller was then told about a totally different property. Our caller requested the details of the property they had seen on Right Move (our property) to be sent totally different details to a totally different property. At the intial valuation appointment we were told Fine and Country were associated with Chilterns Estate Agents in Brandon and as we were in their catchment area our details would be held at that office also. Again we made a "mystery shop" call to Chilterns to be told they had no properties which fitted our criteria. We took this up with Fine and Country. We did not receive a call from anyone to discuss this shambolic case of events and it just got dismissed. As no surprise we advised we wished for our agreement to be terminated and our keys to be returned. This is over a week ago and we are still waiting for our keys. The whole experience is farcical
Horizon are awful to deal with; always 'about to ring me back'; finally, after I went out of my way to chase them along with others in the chain. Would NOT advise anyone to deal with this estate agents.
