Avoid if you can. Not good at all unfortunately. They don't bother repairing or fixing things (with different excuses), slow to respond and as usual they care only about money. Also, be careful with property reports (but you already know that, right?): they don't put issues in the initial report and try to put as much as possible "new" issues in the final report. And if they can "forget" returning some money to you that they owe, be assured that they _will_ forget to do it.

Dear Mr Klimov, Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a review. I am a little surprised that you have chosen to give us just one star. You rented a managed property through our agency for 30 months, in that time reporting approximately nine maintenance issues, all of which were resolved promptly. Never during or after your tenancy (until seeing this review) did you ever express any level of dissatisfaction or raise any formal complaint. With regards to you comment "they only care about the money". As a reminder, as an agency we have never charged you anything. They only money that we have ever handled is either your rent (which goes to the Landlord) or your deposit which is securely logged within the Deposit Protection Service. With regards to your comments about "reports", I assume that this is a reference to the Inventory, Check in & Check out. As a reminder, in line with best practice, these are independently produced by a third-party company in line with AIIC guidelines. You had the opportunity to raise any questions or request amendments to the Inventory and Check In, but declined to do so. At the end of your tenancy the Landlord sought a deduction against your deposit which you agreed to, making your review more surprising. The deduction was a compensatory amount for the following: - Entrance Hall- Numerous grubby marks to walls. Grey Staining to Carpet (wouldn't come out with cleaning). Lounge- Grubby marked walls throughout. Melted patch of carpet. Kitchen- Chips to kitchen units. Scuffs to worktops. Splash marks to walls. Red pen marks on fridge (wouldn't come off with cleaning) Sticky-pad residue to kitchen base level units. Bedroom 1- Blue, Orange and Black splash marks to walls. Bleach type stains to curtains. Once again, we are sorry if you felt in anyway dissatisfied with your tenancy and we do take all genuine feedback seriously. Wishing you kind regards and all the very best for the future, Martin & Co

Don’t take responsibility for they’re actions, poor communication skills. Zero empathy and lack of CUSTOMER service.

If I could give less than one star I would! I was guarantor for my daughter's flat and I completely agree with those who have given 1 star. A shambolic establishment. They spin defensive emails that are filled with lies, half truths an innuendos! Do yourselves a favour do not use this agency unless you are willing to deal complete childish emails and inaction!NegativeQuality, Professionalism

Dear Mr Μαριος Βοντας, Sorry for the late reply. I had reported this review to google on the basis that I believe it is libellous, but sadly google have not responded. So, the facts… You rented a furnished property, when your furniture "arrived", you quite simply disposed of (sold?) the landlords furniture. As a result, the landlord (via Martin & Co) requested a full retention of your deposit at the end of the tenancy towards replacing the missing pieces of furniture. You have refuted the claim saying that you disposed of "broken" items despite never reporting any broken items at any time during the tenancy. As a result of the dispute, the landlord quite rightly (in in my opinion) sought a full retention of your deposit whilst you offered £0. A dispute was duly lodged with the DPS Alternative Dispute Resolution service. The DPS in house lawyers reviewed the events and sided 100% with the agent/landlord. Subsequently this review appeared, I assume as a reaction to the DPS adjudicators decision. Given that the furniture was of good quality and excellent condition at the time you moved in, and that your tenancy was only 17 months in total, perhaps you are fortunate that the landlord chose not to report the missing furniture to the police as a theft. Thankfully for us and our landlord clients, these situations are extremely rare. Kind Regards, James Wiggins

Absolutely shocking, a shambles of a branch. It is such a shame because I would have highly recommended Martin and Co based the service received at the start of my tenancy. It has been a month since I have checked out and I am unhappy with the end of tenancy service.

Extremely unprofessional and defensive attitude. I went through hell by renting a flat with them. If you email them for any issues they respond with making fun of you instead of sorting out the problem. When you bring up valid points, and they feel like it'll cost them, they become defensive and act like children in a playground. They use landlords as a shield and can blame them for everything when the agent is in a sticky situation. They also threaten people that they won't give them a satisfying reference to move out. They did it with my colleague as well. I suggest, you use a more respected letting agent. Stay away from Martin and Co.

Dear Ken, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on our page. Your name does not appear on our system as someone we have ever dealt with, simply put, we have never let to a "Ken Adams" before. Perhaps you have accidently reviewed the wrong branch of Martin & Co as we have nearly 200 independently owned and run branches across the UK? I would be happy to personally assist you with your grievance regardless of where in the UK it relates to, please don't hesitate to get in touch and ask for me by name. Kind Regards, James Wiggins Director 01252 311974

Dear Margarita, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on our page. Your name does not appear on our system as someone we have ever dealt with. Perhaps you have accidently reviewed the wrong branch of Martin & Co as we have nearly 200 independently owned and run branches across the UK? As your one star review does not contain any detail, it is very hard to respond let alone validate or look into what your issue could have been. I would be happy to personally assist you with your grievance regardless of where in the UK it relates to, please don't hesitate to get in touch and ask for me by name. We had booking with these guys and went to view a property on 12th Feb in Aldershot where the agent jamie who was showing us property told us we can park on the estate where property was. We did as he said, viewed property and now we got a parking ticket. On contacting martin and co about the ticket we been told that its our responsibility that we have to pay the fine because there was sign all over development and we are responsible where we park the car. I was forced to pay the fine. I would like to inform all buyers and sellers please do not go forward with this company. That was a very bad business. Tricking people. The whole company should be ashamed.

Dear Amrish, Thank you for your review. As you know, Jamie completely refutes your claim. You arrived at the property early before Jamie had got there and, unbeknown to Jamie at the time, had already parked your vehicle in a permit holders space, despite there being signs everywhere saying "Permit Parking Only". It was only after you informed us that you had received a ticket in the post that we became aware. We did offer at the time to pay 50% of the ticket value as a gesture of good will but did not hear back from you making this review all the more surprising. Kind Regards, James Wiggins Director 01252 311974
