Dear Kol, I'm sorry to hear that you aren't satisfied with your experience using flatfair. I've looked into your case and I can see that after negotiations regarding your end of tenancy charges were unsuccessful, the case was refered to an independent adjudicator for a binding decision. Once this decision came back, we provided you and your co-tenants with a detailed report produced by the adjudicator explaining the decision making process which led to the final result. Also, you were all provided with an invoice to make payment of the final established charges. As per your signed terms and conditions, you were given 5 days to pay the charges or respond to us. We received no response from you or your co-tenants during this period and therefore we sent a reminder to you all to make payment. Again, we received no response so the case was passed on to our Collections Manager to handle the process of recovering the debt. As per your signed terms and conditions, we can use the payment details collected during your sign-up process to collect funds related to end of tenancy charges if necessary. Given the lack of response from you and your co-tenants, we were left with no choice but to take payment from the cards that we had registered to you. This was not a desired outcome for us, but I hope you can understand why we followed this process. If you read this and still consider using this company because their other ‘reviews’ are so good, check out the people leaving the 5 star reviews. They’re all written by people who indirectly work for FlatFair itself or by letting agents that use their services. It doesn’t matter how desperate you are, avoid this company at all costs. They will attempt to scam you out of as much money as they possibly can for charges that don’t even make any sense. They have ‘separate’ adjudicators that seem to be completely biased and won’t ever be on the side of the tenants even if there is literal legal evidence backing up the claims being made. We managed to reduce our charge by £200 and they ended up giving us a random amount to pay. Not entirely sure how a charge can go from £288 to £80 without any reasoning behind it - obviously not complaining about having to pay a smaller amount but it just shows how incompetent the company is. Their customer service is genuinely terrible, it’s like they’ll do everything in their power to just completely screw you over and will leave you for weeks on end without responding to your emails or calls. Cannot stress enough how terrible FlatFair and their services are, please avoid! If I get a response from FlatFair saying that what I’ve written is inaccurate (as they have done with previous negative reviews), I feel I have plenty of proof and have been through enough with this company to back up my claims.

Hi Jessica, I'm sorry to hear how you feel about your experience using flatfair. It's important to note that we act as an intermediary to help facilitate agreement between tenants and landlords when end of tenancy charges are raised. The final amount after charges are established is due to the landlord and not flatfair. In this case, negotiations between you and the landlord didn't lead to agreement so the case was sent to an independent adjudicator for a final decision. The law, as well as the evidence presented, was considered by the adjudicator and the final decision was made. This decision was that the charge was legitimate but the amount was reduced from the original charge. The result, as well as a detailed explanation for it, was shared with you and we received a challenge from your co-tenant. After reviewing the challenge, it was clear that it would not impact the original result. We however, as a gesture of goodwill, agreed to a further reduced amount with you to facilitate the closure of the case and I can see that payment has now been made in full so the matter is settled. I acknowledge that during these discussions, there was a delay in reaching out to you and we apologise for this. Given however, that we followed the process that you signed up for (i.e. and independent adjudicator settling the case under circumstances where agreement wasn't reached between parties) and also went above and beyond this by agreeing a further reduced amount with you (which you've somehow attempted to turn into a negative), we are disappointed to receive this review and it's clear that it represents an unfair characterisation of the service we have provided. These people con people. They set you up with a no deposit option which sounds all sweet then when the tenancy ends that’s when they take advantage and charge you you into reconstructing there property. This was my first time renting and I’ve learned my lesson and will stay away from flatfair also as they team up with agencies so they can get there share. I paid someone to deep clean the property yet they added cleaning charges to my bill. Avoid this company at all costs I do not recommend at all . I used the agency Haart and they did not help and flatfair also make threats when they don’t get there money also which isn’t nice for a company. People have rights to payment plans etc and shouldn’t the threatened to pay large sums in 5 days the customer service is appalling

Dear Lola, I'm sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your experience using flatfair. I've looked into your case and I can see that charges related mostly to cleaning were raised at the end of your tenancy via our platform. Our platform allows you to negotiate/challenge the charges by coming back with a counter to the original figures in order to ensure that fair charges are agreed upon. In your case, you have accepted the charges without negotiating, effectively agreeing that the initial charges were fair. Once the charges have been agreed, we then ask payment to be made within 5 days. We are however open to other arrangements when necessary and we take the personal circumstances of tenants into account. We have in this case agreed a payment plan with you which has been in place since the early part of this month. Overall, we have treated your case fairly and I feel that the review as a whole and some of the language used (suggesting that we con people) is totally inaccurate. Poor experience. Ordered an item that I wasn't happy with when it arrived. No attempt to remedy the situation and I am not the only person who has had this identical issue from within my organisation.
