My wife and I have just completed a move from Hertfordshire to Devon and the team from Astons at WGC have been superb and I will explain why. Our first interaction with Ashtons was when Tom Case came to see us. What a nice, straight talking chap he is, there was no flannel with Tom, he gave us an honest appraisal of where he saw our property in the market and he also mentioned different methods of marketing our property. Once we had found our house in Devon, Tom was straight on to the selling agents, (even though we hadn't received a firm offer) reassuring them that we were a good prospective buyer and this counted for a lot. Having found our house, the wheels all kicked into motion and we met further members of the Astons team. Maggie did a great job on the description of our house and she listened to all our knowledge about the area and incorporated that into the details. The photographer (outsourced to a local company) was just brilliant. She did a wonderful job of capturing the style and spirit of our house and its thanks to these two girls that we had a great online advert with Rightmove. The next member of the Ashtons team who really impressed us was Liz Wilson, from the sales team. Liz always kept us updated with feedback on viewings, because we had chosen to show people round ourselves. When it came to deciding which offer to proceed with, Liz was invaluable with the work she did to check out the chains of prospective buyers. This made it a straightforward decision when choosing who to go with. Once we had accepted an offer on our house and we had also had our offer accepted on our Devon property, we were introduced to our sales coordinator, the brilliant and determined Lucy Gadsby. We didn't realise that this role existed but boy did it prove essential. Lucy's job is to go up and down the members of the chain, liaising with estate agents and solicitors, checking on progress and chasing up where things need chasing. Our move, with four in the chain, should have been straightforward but, like most instances of moving house that we have heard about, it was far from easy. Thank goodness for Lucy is all we can say. At one stage, when things were getting really difficult (mainly due to solicitors I should add) Lucy came up with a strategy to split exchange dates, which ultimately saved the process. So in summary, we have nothing but praise for all the Astons team we encountered and we have already sung their praise far and wide.
