Update: I was redirected to speak to Andrew and spoke to him this afternoon about my experience. He took the time to apologise and explain exactly what had happened in this scenario as it was just a case of bad timing. He was very understanding and sympathised that I was a first time buyer and gave me some great advice! Cancelled my viewing with less than 2hrs notice because an offer had been put in, but updated rightmove and their own website 9hrs before my viewing was scheduled for. You would think they would cancel my viewing, explain the situation as to why and THEN update their websites!! Won’t be looking at any properties with this agents as a first time buyer. They have shown they care more about getting their fees in the bank than customer service.
Pretty much what you expect.
Rather pushy keep calling us to say do you want to sell your house. We have told them twice if we are in the market to sell we will call them but no one obviously takes any notice
Disappointing experience :( I viewed properties and had follow on queries on both. One I was seriously interested in offering on and I had communicated this. The property was empty and I am in a no chain situation so im an attractive buyer who had valid questions on a property I was interested in. I appreciate the agents wouldn’t have been able to answer some immediately but some could have been easily answered if they had just passed them onto the vendor. In my previous years of buying / selling properties this is completely normal practice and part of the process. Despite follow up calls, including to the assistant manager I kept being told I was on a list and they would get back to me with answers. I did feel a bit fobbed off but kept faith they understood and would stay in touch. One of the properties was sold STC shortly after and the other I was really interested in and had been patiently waiting for, I’ve now seen is under offer :( I am so upset about this The agents knew I could have moved quickly which would have been of benefit to the vendor but they clearly had some issue with me & waited for someone else to come along and offer. As they seem to advertise most properties in Wallasey I’m now forced to look at moving to a different location all together as I can’t bring myself to view anymore properties through KT, they don’t seem to want to help me.
Terrible, disingenuous estate agents. Asking price offered. Offer accepted by the vendor. solicitors and conveyancer booked and paid. Searches completed. Late call from the estate agents telling us the vendor had accepted another offer!! Gutted and so disappointed.
Its not nice and the staff are very snotty and rude
I had experience of Karl Tatler on both the Lettings and Sales side and both were awful. The company is staffed mainly by school leavers who are there for several months and then move on. For selling, they charge a premium to other agents saying they offered a ‘superior service’ - if this means not following through on commitments / promises and ignoring calls then yes, they do a good job at that. Curiously, the most amount of viewings we had on the house was in the two weeks notice period I gave them to terminate- pretty sure they were ghost viewings so if I sell to these people via another agent Karl Tatler will seek a cut
On numerous occasions tatlers have messed me about with offers made and attempted purchases. Also failed to disclose a number of issues they where made aware of like subsidence. Most recently messed around by Jack at Wallasey branch. Insist of proof of funds pre accepting offer. Then hours later once process has been started inform me seller is accepting higher offer. Then informed few days later buyer has pulled out would my offer like to be reinstated. After resubmitting offer I’m once again messed around. This is the third property they have done this to me with. Pathetic company to deal with
