Very unprofessional letting agency. Over our 1 year tenancy members of staff, particularly Sharon Walker, were persistently rude to tenants via email over issues raised. We were charged a very large amount in deposit deductions which, due to the company’s refusal to engage in any form of discussion around these issues, we felt obliged to escalate to the Deposit Protection Service. An independent adjudicator identified that Martin and Co had greatly overcharged us for deductions, and as such we were only deducted a fraction of what had been initially requested. This company has acted in an unprofessional manner throughout our entire tenancy period and we feel that we were taken advantage of. I will never rent from this company again, and I wish I had acted with much greater caution when initially selecting them as our letting agency.

Dear George. Thank you for the review and I am of course disappointed that you feel this way. As part of the student tenancy at the property we have tried out very best to help you, but it is fair to say that we havent always seen eye to eye. The maintenance issues you reported during the tenancy have always been dealt with swifty, and when you reported issues that were actually a tenant responsibility or due to how you treated the property, we have always tried to provide information, assistance or guidance to help you manage. When you complained, we investigated and responded to every concern you had, establishing that you had always been treated fairly during the tenancy. Even when you raised it with the council, the council chose to do nothing. As you know, no complaint was ever upheld. At the end of the tenancy, you are quite right that the landlord did request deductions from your deposit which we sent you by email and you chose to ignore for over two weeks. At that point our hands were tied, and the independent arbitrator had already stepped in. Once again, I am sorry that you feel aggrieved but wish you all the best with your future move.
