Although I haven't dealt directly with Smiths Homes, I had posted on a community facebook page asking for recommendations for a local trusted surveyor. Daf Spear very kindly reached out to me personally to offer any help and advice I needed, whilst also providing a solid recommendation of his own for a surveyor. Daf took time out of his day (on a weekend as well!) to discuss concerns I had and talk through his experience with my list of potential surveyors.
