Fees too high compared to other estate agents and service wasn't that good as constantly had to chase for more information. What should have been a short process with a cash buyer and no chain took months to complete.

I have waited a long while to review this company so that I wasn’t too upset. I viewed a property that the estate agency was handling last summer. They made me change the time I booked for the viewing to give their employee “time to travel” however when I arrived they were actually doing an open viewing and there were five groups of people looking around, the property was small so it made it difficult to get a feel of the place. The lady doing the viewing spent the entire time I was there talking to one group who she obviously knew and ignored everyone else. I felt like I had been tricked, like they didn’t care about showing me around and under pressure to make an offer as the group she was speaking to talked loudly about how they were going to “have this one”. I wouldn’t have minded if I had been warned but it was clear from how others were also acting that they too were under the impression that they were going to be viewing the property alone and were upset by the experience (the lady didn’t even welcome us when we walked in, the door was just left open). They obviously arranged this when they made me change my viewing time and could have told me then but didn’t. I decided after that not to view any properties sold with Martin and co as I didn’t feel that they were trustworthy or valued me as a potential buyer. I used several local estate agents to view properties and then to buy my new home and never had any similar experiences, in fact I told a few and they were shocked by what had happened. Hopefully this was a one off but if in the future I want to sell my property I would not use this company if this is how they treat potential buyers.

Worst letting agency I’ve ever dealt with. Never deals with issues, communication is non existent and all you get is “we’ll contact you back”, but they never do. Reported losing my key and I have never received a replacement one in 10 months (thank God for the lovely neighbours who allowed me to copy theirs). Moved out of the property 3 months ago and I have still not received my deposit back. Now they’re claiming £330 for 2 keys lost by Royal Mail that I’ve sent to them.

Worst letting agencies I've had to deal with, never get back to you, never resolve any issues or repairs. If i was a landlord I would stay well clear.

I had a viewing booked at 11AM and no one showed up to the property and I had to wait for an hour to hear that the agent never came to the place. When I called the office to check with the appointment, they just lie to me saying that the agent was waiting there for 20 mins and left for a different appointment while I reached there 10 mins earlier to my appointment and waited there till 11:45. This was my first time using Martin &Co and I'm really disappointed with the service.

As a landlord I would advise to avoid them at all costs, you call to ask them a question and their standard reply 'we are busy we will call you back' and they never do. I am glad that I changed them. That is me providing them with business, can't imagine how they are treating tenants.
