Customer service is appalling. Spoken to with the worst attitude and now no reply to a complaint I have raised. If someone would like to respond please do, before I take this further.

Absolutely terrible company for customer service ... Olivia is the only one that would go out her way to try and help as much as she could .. try and speak with the lettings manager Juli is impossible she is conviniently always “ Out the Office “ so booked in for call back which never ever happens ... so pleased myself and my family got a lucky escape without renting from this company ... we are taking things further !!! Keep away from this company at all costs ... x

Lovey staff but their management is abysmal. When it comes to the end of a tenancy, they try all ways to keep money they owe you back for themselves. It’s such a shame as my time dealing with this agent was great up to the end where things got very sour with thanks to Julie Poulton. Be very wary of Julie when dealing with her and make sure you document everything in writing as she will try and scam you out of your money.

We had a horrendous time with these people. I have no idea how they sleep at night. We were due to move into a property & had everything ready to go. They insisted we paid our deposit & first months rent so the move in could go ahead. They left the inspection of the property until the day before we were due to move in. When we went to measure for our wardrobes whilst they inspected. The house was in a state of disrepair & needed a lot done to it to be anywhere near ready for new tenants! I have more than 100 photos of the property. We were left in the lurch with new furniture waiting to be delivered, friends & family storing our belongings. Our phone calls were rarely responded to as were our emails. We wanted to know when we could expect to move in as did the shops holding our furniture & the other people being inconvenienced by Martin & Co. Then I get a phone call from Juli the franchise owner blaming us for the delay!! I still can not believe that she would dare to say that considering we had waited with virtually no updates. Adele an employee asked us to move in & hire a machine to clean the carpets ourselves & have my Dad refit a door that had fallen off. Not to mention the rising damp that they hadn’t made us aware of, the leak in the living room & the problem with the chimney not being safe. Cutting a long & horrific story short. We didn’t move in as the stress was horrific as was the state of the property. We waited months to get our deposit back & we never have received the months rent that they took from us as well as admin fees. We were newly married with huge expenses due to my husband being from America. This branch of Martin & Co & specifically its owners, caused us no end of stress & hardship. I most definitely wouldn’t recommend them & we will be taking this matter further. Shameful behaviour. I couldn’t & wouldn’t do what they did to us, to anyone!

The owners Chris and Juli refuse to release deposits even though the rental property was handed back satisfactorily and signed off by Regan. They now ignore us and are keeping our money, terrible service that is now forcing us to report them to the DPS.

I would strongly recommend avoiding their property management service. They took their share of the rent until there were actual maintenance issues to be attended to. It then took 6 months to obtain basic quotations for some of the work and the rest I resolved independently. Further they initially requested approval for a job at an amount of GBP 5,000 before I suggested more quotes were necessary and then the final amount of GBP 2,000 was agreed. I was compensated by the return of 3 months fees (not nearly enough for the time they wasted). They also took a further GBP 200 from my account because I terminated the contract with them with their tenant remaining which although in the terms is clearly unethical after they have clearly agreed there was a lack of service on their part by the fact that they paid my compensation!?! They had the cheek to suggest the amount I had been compensated was ‘more than generous’. Unprofessional, incompetent and rude.

Avoid at all cost if you value your money! Rented a property from this useless company for 2 years and from move in day we had issues with the property, and Martin and Co were well let’s say absolutely useless at resolving them. They said things would be done to the property which needed resolving/fixing before we moved in... they weren’t, took over 1 year to get most of them done. They lost our inspection reports (convenient for them when they showed there were issues with the property.) We had leak in the bathroom for 9 month which they never resolved which meant it stunk, it then ran into the kitchen and the floor boards had to be lifted so we loved with half the kitchen floor up. The issue was clearly the bath as it was leaking but they replaced the washing machine instead thinking it was that?!?! We reported issues with them that were never resolved. In the end we decided to leave the property because of Martin and Co not because we wanted to move. Left in July and still waiting for our bond back. Constantly chasing but never hear back. Last time I rang was about 4 weeks ago and still waiting for that call back from Charlotte (you have my number so feel free to actually call me back) she was always ‘out of the office’ or on ‘annual leave’ so never available to talk....again convenient. I think Julie needs to brush up on property knowledge, when we went to view the property there was this annoying beeping going off and she said ah it’s because the electrics are off (even though we where turning the lights on?!) when we moved in we found it was a broken smoke alarm which again we reported and was never fixed so we had to sort that ourselves. How their company is still standing I will never know!

Lived in a property for a year with little to no response from them. Work still needs to be done to the house as they did very little. Constantly passing the buck and blame. So pleased they no longer deal with the property.

Left me with a ceiling about to cave in for 7 weeks, haven't had a call returned since august, now left with kitchen flooring that is a tripping hazard. Replied to an email advising she was on maternity leave, called the office and she was there! Absolute joke! Steer clear!
