If the transaction is simple they are good enough to conclude But if it requires understanding and communication they are incapable In my case the property was at later stage found to have cracks and had insurance claims hence bank rejected the standard evaluation and demanded structural survey Structural survey was requested and half payment was agreed if Bank accepts the report - Martin and co agreed - but never got one Beware - especially first time buyers! The property has been remarketed without mentioning flaws - 5 rotten eggs rather than 1 star

محمد طلحہ خالد, We understand you may have some frustrations concerning this particular property, and the issues that came to light during the purchase process. However, the insurance claim you refer to (which we made you aware of) goes back several years, as does the monitored survey carried out at that time showing there was no further movement. Our vendor then paid for a new full structural survey (independent report dated 28th August) which also shows no further movement and you were made aware of the results, but decided not to proceed as is your right. All reports are held on file, any future interested party will be fully informed of past issues before starting the sale process. We are disappointed that you feel this way and would be happy to discuss any of these issues with you if you wanted to get in touch. Many Thanks, Angela

Only walked past other week to see the old place as an old friend of mine once ran an antique shop that I used to work and frequent some years ago Only to be approached by a plump lady who seemed to look down at everything rather displeasingly with an attitude you would not believe nor comprehend. We were quizzed as to why we were looking the place up and down when I was pointing out to the wife about the changes to the premises despite my explanation outside of the building. One only assumes nobody brought any birthday cake in to share that particular day and me and the misses were copping the fallout I worked there so i know 100% Dear me god help anyone enquiring to use your agency if we got havoc for being on the public footpath....

Dear Richard and Sharon, Thank you for your feedback, I am a little confused if you have the right business as we are an estate agents and to my knowledge the building has never been an antique shop, I am not sure who the “plump lady” would be as I don’t recognise the description as a member of my staff. Next time you are in the village please come to the shop and ask for myself and I would be pleased to show you around our building, or assist you with any property information as required. If you would like to contact me to discuss your feedback any further I would be happy to help, kind regards Angela

If you are a tenant, steer clear from this agent. They are from, start to finish, about milking every last penny out of tenants. Throughout my time renting a property through them, they tried to find every possible way to extort money from me. It was extremely stressful and upsetting, and they managed to ruin two Christmas periods for me with their shenanigans. If you must rent through them get all agreements and communications in writing and take comprehensive photographs of the property upon moving in and moving out. Check your rights when they attempt to charge you for things as they will try and make you liable for things that are legally the landlords responsibility. And if you are a landlord, I implore you to use a different agents if you have any care and consideration for your tenants and view renters as human beings rather than just a resource to be exploited.

Hi Matty, I can see that you have left a 1 star review without any comments and am unable to find your details on our system. Please could you let me know what has happened for you to provide such a low rating? I am available at saltaire@martinco.com if you would like to contact me to discuss this further. Many Thanks, Angela

Would not recommend anyone to use Martin co saltire as for 6 months we had to fight for holes in the roof to be repaired and damp to be resolved 3 different times they had to come out to fix radiators and just bodged them up and just left me with a damp and run down house and then at the end of all this they charge me for dehumidifiers they had took back and refused to admit this so I ended up having to pay out for them aswel as trying to charge for issues that was made up and cleaning the house even though I had provided proof of a cleaning company doing this just as I left and dps agreeing that the house was perfectly fine

We are sorry to hear that on this occasion you were not pleased with our service, unfortunately due to poor weather conditions the three roofers we tried to appoint were not willing to go onto the roof for safety reasons. In January we managed to instruct a roofer to carry out the work but due to a backlog of appointments due to the bad weather he could only do the work in February. Unfortunately as we did not receive the dehumidifiers back at the end of your tenancy the cost to replace these is your responsibility. As you disputed this we went to the ADR with the DPS, the DPS adjudicated that the cost of the dehumidifiers should be refunded to us. Once again we would like to apologise for any distress this has caused.

Hello Lorraine, we are very sorry to hear you were unsatisfied with the service you received. Until now we were unaware of this as we have not heard from you since you moved out over 5 months ago. We believe the deductions made to your deposit were proportionate, reflecting the damages made to the carpet and bathroom sealant. Unfortunately we were unable to accept the pictures provided by yourself, as we have no way of knowing when these images were taken. We always provide new tenants with a full inventory when moving in, we allow tenants up to 5 days to add anything we may have missed (such as damages) to the inventory before returning it. We would never overcharge a tenant and we did return the majority of your deposit. Once again we are sorry if you were unsatisfied on this occasion. If you would like to discuss the matter further please call our office on 01274 589132 or send an email to saltaire@martinco.com
