I rented out my house through Prospect, formerly Castles, for 8 and a half years. I felt that they were not strong enough in making sure that they considered my position. They were good at communicating with me but seemed to become a mouthpiece for the tenants view. For instance, the fence and garden gate were damaged/ fell off, a couple of times. The tenants claimed that the wind was at fault! This was just accepted at face value. I just paid up every time. This was the main reason I evicted the tenants. They left damage, didn't have the house professionally cleaned, left rubbish and stole some items. I have made an official complaint to the agency that they could have tried harder to prevent this. It was the tenants responsibility ultimately, of course. I have not had my complaint acknowledged 2 weeks later.

Overall Castles were pretty good when we used them in March (2017). They answered all our questions, provided all the information we requested and made some changes to the way our contract was worded. Communication could have been a little better at times but I would use them again.

Edited review! Originally I did post a positive review but after living at the property for nearly a year I have revised it. I feel as though the company favours the seller more than the buyer as they receive a large amount of percentage from them. A lot of information was withheld from us and the quality of the house was not that great quality. Natasha was a great assist when we visited to view a property. I believe she no longer works here. Friendly and was able to answer our questions in regards to the property and was able to swiftly help us arrange a second viewing. Keep up the good work 👏

Do not waste your time renting with this company, 3 years, two separate properties. Only to get screwed over each time for things that should be considered wear and tear, like some thread coming loose on a blind or a few marks on the skirting boards (the house was rented to a mechanic). Property management is shocking and is beyond rude every time we’ve had to deal with them. Everything is the tenants fault. Avoid avoid.

Honestly one of the worst things I ever did getting a house with them and Kelly is one of the worst property mangers I’ve ever had and had to deal with actually disrespect and not helpfull

If you are looking to sell your property with Prospect Estate Agents in Reading! Do not go with them! I had a call back from them to follow up on the valuation they gave me! The estate agent on the phone was going on and on and on trying to get me to go with them when I already chose an estate agent! They were bad mouthing the estate agent I went with too! This is very unprofessional! I was dealing with an estate agent called Toby from Reading! He was going on and on and on! When I was happy with my decision to go with the estate agent I wanted! They even called the estate agent I went with liars!!! This is very unprofessional attitude! Should have just said “thank you and yes that’s fine” not go on and on about this! Trying to sell and sell! I would never go with you now on this basis! They were trying to put my property on the market for £20k less than i wanted it on for too!! Terrible and unprofessional to bad mouth a competitive business Edit: Dated 1st April 2025 another estate agent from Prospect called Luke today called me up! He called me up 3 times!! When I told him leave me alone and don’t contact me again!!! He called me 3 times!!! This is now harassment and I am going to get the police involved!!!

I had planned to buy a flat from this agents , from the very beginning this purchase was difficult. Firstly we had the 4 week delay in getting the id verification through and had to pay £82 (none of the other agents charge that !) From then on it seemed I was chasing the office all the time with nobody coming back to me. The amount of phone calls I made and emails , to the manager Jordon and natasha , most of which went unanswered, which I found highly unprofessional and unworkable. Prospect gave such a poor service in my opinion leaving me with no option other than to pull out of the purchase. I would not recommend these to anyone thinking of buying , renting or leasing , find your self a reliable agent .

We thought it's a best estate agents in UK but after getting frustrated experience, we are thinking it's one of worst estate agents. Their poor service and maintenance problems before handing over keys to new tenants makes us very bad and we are suffering till now and it's been a week. You won't get proper response from anyone and they will simply tell apologies. Better choose another agency if you are looking for good and better homes.

I should not give that one star itself and have got that much frustration with Prospect and their home. They haven't done any checks before handing over the home to me and it's been a week since I am struggling to get my issues sorted. Worst service by prospect and no one is responding promptly. I don't want to name people here and please check with other agencies for good home if you are looking for your family.
