Very bad communication and professionalism skills, horrible customer service with tenants, i do not think they even care after you signing your contract. Do think twice before dealing with them.
If I could've given no stars, I would have. Worst letting agency I've ever used. They'll let you live in a damp house that literally rains indoors, yet they'll be useless in helping the tenants get any justice. Never ever using them againNegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value
Tries to scam ex renters out of money to do the landlords house up. Run a mile from this agency, scam artists and liars.
This Belvoir branch in Portsmouth & Southsea were managing several of our flats but now they are managing NONE. They are INCOMPETENT and the WORST residential managing agents we have ever used in our 96 years of operating. Belvoir NEVER inspected our flats in several years. Belvoir withheld information. Belvoir breached the management agreement. Belvoir don’t care about the landlord or tenant, they just want their fee. We caught Belvoir NEGLECTING their management responsibilities and lying to both tenant and landlord. Belvoir are NOT RESPONSIVE to emails and phone calls and their front office is run by untrained inexperienced staff with limited knowledge in managing property such as Emma, Yvonne and Helen. The directors are not hands on in the business and they will not contact you when there is a problem. The strange thing is we used Belvoir to sell one of our flats earlier this year and we found Joseph and Spencer great to deal with, however their management department are complete shambles. Conclusion: Don't use them for lettings or management, only for selling based on our experience.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism
Due to not giving a 5star review I have just been refused the property!!! CHECK THE OTHER ONE STAR REVIEWS AS EVERYONE HAS THE SAME SET OF PROBLEMS Also it seemed very strange to be pushed multiple times to leave a 5 star review before any paperwork had actually been signed and this is reflected when you read the 5 star reviews as alot of them say they are in the process of moving, not actually moved into their properties. So the first property I tried to look at took nearly 2 weeks of constant emailing and messaging even me going into the office. When I finally did get a viewing nobody turned up when I called they said it had been cancelled and that I had actually never been booked in.they said they would call me back but never did. I should have avoided them then but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. They then offered me another viewing for a different property and told me on the phone that it was £500 a month after I had paid the holding deposit they then said it was £560 so it was over my budget by £45 month. I had told belvoir repeatedly at this point that I was going to be using a guarantor service rather than a person the while time I was told that was ok and not a problem how ever the insurance company they use (let allience) had contacted them months prior telling them they were not going to accepting that anymore. In the end they took the money that they shouldn't have even though they knew I wasn't going to able to use a guarantor company and now are claiming they never had the deposit and they didn't know it would fail even though they were told months ago by the insurance company that no guarantor companies were allowed to be used for the foreseeable future. They have knowledgeably made me become homeless due to this. I am having to open a legal despite with them in order to get something actually doneNegativeQuality, Professionalism, Value
Often struggle with genuine estate agents in portsmouth. Belvoir can take up to 3-4 months to respond to an enquiry maintance or repair. Still have a broken window in the property despite being promised directly by a Belvoir estate agent it would get fixed in a timely manner before winter. Now it's winter and the house is very cold.
Not the best agency around. The house I was renting through them had many issues. To be honest they fixed some of them but not the main problem that was about mice in the kitchen, even after several solicitations. They just came around one time but they didn't do nothing permanent in order to stop mice from sneaking inside. In addition to that they asked me to pay 20 pounds when i needed their reference for moving to a new house and that is quite unusual. Furthermore they withhold a considerable amount of money from my initial deposit especially due to, as they said, "a deep clean throughout including all woodwork, kitchen clean, bathroom clean" and "Removal of items left in the property". About the first motivation I firmly think it was not true because i cleaned all the property deeply, especially the kitchen and bathroom. Instead, about the second one, all those items they removed belonged to either the owner or the previous tenants so I didn't touch them and I reckon it wasn't my responsibility to move them even if they affirmed the contrary. Another thing I didn't like very much was that after the end of the tenancy I asked them for a favor but they never replied to me (I just wanted to check if there was an important letter for me in the box inside the communal entrance as I didn't have the keys anymore). In conclusion it hadn't been a really good experience with this agency to be fair and my impression is that they only think about money.
No Good - service appalling really gone downhill I will not be using them again, Cosgroves are much much better
My friends and I rented a property from these criminals and while the first few months were okay, although the agency fees were extortionate, we then entered into a living nightmare with these people. After a couple of people left, two new people were to join us in renting the property. We gave the agents a months notice and the new tenants details so a contract could be sorted. Since the new people were expecting a contract to be signed etc they gave notice to their old landlords. Low an behold no contract had arrived by the time they were due to move in. The agents had not even requested any details from them a month after being told they would be moving into the property. After paying agency fees it took the agents another 2 months to get round to a contract being sent out. Turns out there were multiple errors with length (as we are students) and guarantors. After telling the agents about this we had not had a revised contract 3 weeks later. This was when we decided to leave. One of the new tenants did not want to go (understandably) but we just could not deal with the incompetence anymore. We were then advised that if the new tenant did not leave we would be required to pay rent until they decided to even if we were not living there and had not signed any contract. They also said this would have applied with the new contract once it came to an end if one person decided to stay the others would be liable for rent indefinitely until said person left the property. Belvoir advised us to change the locks on the new tenant so she could not stay. This is illegal and we could not believe we were given such "advice". They hardwired our own personal tumble-dryer into the wall during some maintenance work and then wanted us to pay to have it removed even though the mistake was theirs. Plenty of maintenance and health and safety issues were ignored even though the council had got involved at one point, from not having a fire extinguisher or blanket to not having a note board. After finally dealing with this issue they then attempted to take agency fees out of our deposit to refund the two new tenants who had paid agency fees to Belvoir, completely illegal! After many emails and phone conversations we sought legal advice and registered a dispute with the TDS. We quickly got our money back then. Any issues we had were dealt with at a glacial pace, rarely checked up on the property and we never got reports on the property or anything that we had done wrong. The itinerary that we had was detailed incorrectly and did not match the pictures of the property. This included two broken wardrobes, one which did not exist they had taken the picture twice and also IT WAS BROKEN. All in all I can confidently say that the agents were lazy, unhelpful, advised us to to something illegal, illegally tried to take money from our deposit and clearly did not care one bit about us. The moment they knew we were leaving and would no longer be receiving money from us they did everything they could to swindle as much out of us as possible. Could not be happier with the place we have now and guess what we had a contract sent to us within 2 weeks of requesting it.
