My friend let’s a house through Belvoir and although he has agreed a sale on his house in November, the agent is refusing to carry out his instructions to evict the tenants. They should have served a section 21 notice in November but did absolutely nothing. Tenants have overstayed by 6 months and counting. Belvoir only served the notice in June and continue to frustrate the eviction process. They refuse to provide proof that they have served papers and won’t let him speak to the solicitor that he is paying for and acting on his instructions. They have failed to invoke court proceedings as requested for past 5 months. Avoid Belvoir at all costs as they only care about their monthly management fees. And all of this is because Belvoir are upset that the seller chose to sell with a more professional estate agent.
I had a poor experience with them years ago but at the time didn't know any better, so never felt compelled to write a review, but their treatment of people I know recently has changed my mind. They are avoidant if it inconveniences them, both by email and even in person when I went into the branch. They were not protective of me as a tenant despite me having absolutely no infractions of my contract, and provided no support and refused me reduced rent when the boiler failed and my property flooded, rendering it unliveable, me temporarily homeless, and destroying some of my furniture. I'm sure all tenants have horror stories of letting agents and vice versa, but I cannot see a world in which I would recommend Belvoir. And to note the response below - the property was left unattended "in the depths of winter" because I could not live there while it was being re-floored and dehumidified, not due to some personal negligence. The boiler leaked because it was old (for which I am not liable), and the exact same thing happened to another apartment directly above mine months later. I fully understand it was costly for all involved, but again, they did not incur any cost for my alternate accomodation, as this did not exist. I slept on my mother's sofa for two weeks.
No interest shown. I was looking to buy but no one even said ' good morning '.
- We only just got our deposit back - but only after providing timestamped photographic evidence to the Dispute Resolution Service (which they initially refused to use) - They tried to claim firstly that one of us had not paid our rent (which we proved with a bank statement) and then tried to claim two people (who we've never heard of) had not paid their rent 'Student Living is a Franchise owned and operated under license by Nottingham Lettings Limited trading as Belvoir Nottingham Central' - Take a look at Student Livings reviews (1.9 stars on Google at the time of writing) - We had no lock on the front door of our flat for months - Our deposit was not protected within the legally required timeframe - Unipol have recently revoked their accreditation - They were impossible to get in contact with unless you physically go to their office
the ads for properties with this company put lies in there descriptions, I don't understand why because it doesn't benefit anyone
I had a viewing at the Cigar factory at 5pm and I waited at the property from 4.40pm to 5.10pm. The agent did not appear. This is UNPROFESSIONAL and DISCOURTEOUS. Prior to being stood up I had difficulty getting through by phone. I got an “we open at 9am …” messages after 9.30pm several times and had to make multiple calls to get the viewing in the first place. This company is frankly unprofessional. I certainly will avoid further dealings with them. I then had a very nice viewing with COMFORT LETTINGS who were professional and punctual… Nor did I get an apology. These people have CONTEMPT for their customers. The message below is a LIE as the message left on my phone did not flag up the property was taken, and it was sent when I had ALREADY travelled by train to Nottingham. SHAME ON YOU for your lies.
My experience with the agency was HORRIBLE! Would NOT recommend AT ALL!!! After speaking with agents, and making verbal agreements assuring me that this is the only option, I bought a PLANE ticket from SPAIN to proceed with reserving a property. A pile of money was spent just on traveling expenses waiting for the day so that I finish what I actually came for. Last moment before the meeting I called to confirm my arrival and that the meeting was still on schedule, I was told that the property is no longer available and the "professionals" from BELVOIR could do absolutely nothing. The behavior from the agency was impudent, unprofessional and disastrous, causing unhappiness with their service. Simply next level of bad agency!!!
