As a newcomer in the UK, flat-hunting was not an easy task and real estate agents were not always acting in a professional way (one did not even show up for the viewing without previous notice). The people working for Martin & Co treated me with respect, sincerity and courtesy. Had it not been for Craig and Denise, I would have probably ended up embittered from this process in Manchester. Craig was patient enough to show me all the houses that fitted my criteria in the neighborhood. Denise was ready to answer all my questions regarding the contract (I had a few), to write me the booking confirmation letter (twice!) and even to organize the transport for some basic furniture in the house before my entrance (without having to do it). I am very thankful to both of them for their help. I recommend Martin & Co. beyond any doubt and hope that other agencies in Manchester follow their example.

Honestly, worst letting agents I’ve ever dealt with. There is a man called James who works there who has got to be the rudest man I’ve ever spoken to in my life. As a woman with autism I ask for very clear communication so I know how to do things correctly and follow the correct procedures. This man ended up shouting down the phone at me completely lying about communication we had and things he had already stated in emails. Pretending like I hadn’t spent the 4 years I lived at the property asking them to fix multiple things and begging to have the black mould sorted as I had two children. He called me difficult and gave me grief because I have a child with special needs and demanded I gave them access to the property whilst we were still in there’s despite me explaining my son gets triggered by random people in his space. I offered to leave BEFORE the date I had to move out to give them a week or two to let people view the property. Yet he still spoke down to me and belittled me. He tried to have me over saying he was going to charge me even further for not communicating I was leaving, despite for the millionth time he ignored my emails. He alone is definitely not a man who should be in a customer service job as a woman with additional needs, the way he spoke to me was beyond vile. For the years I lived there I would tell them things that were wrong, they would tell me someone was coming and someone would never come. My son had a long list of health conditions with him being exposed to black mould since he was born. Craig is someone else I’ve dealt with and he was kind and polite whenever I spoke to him, but safe to say once they’ve gotten you into a property you’re as good as nothing as soon as they take your money. I apologise to my past landlord who I point blank refused to communicate with Martin&Co after I moved out after James reduced me to absolute tears the way he spoke to me. Someone needs to teach that man about the Equality act 2010 stating reasonable adjustments are required for people with disabilities. Fortunately I kept every email and phone call I made during the 4 years I lived there backing up everything I’ve said. Stay well away from this company.
