Please note you are referring to this issue as 'water marks' but it is in fact limescale. As outlined in your tenancy agreement, tenants are required to return the property in a condition comparable to that at the start of the tenancy. The check-in inventory and supporting documentation show that this standard was not met. You mentioned concerns about fairness. It’s important to clarify that landlords should not be expected to bear the cost of additional cleaning in order to maintain a high standard for incoming tenants. This is precisely why detailed inventories and check-out inspections are carried out — to ensure transparency and fairness for all parties involved.
