I've been a landlord with Martin's for 10 years. Very quick and responsive. I'm not local to my properties, they manage them for me and take care of everything. Amandeep in particular has been very helpful lately.
Staff were busy at the time of arrival but did help us within 5 minutes of waiting .
Adequate lettings agent, would be better if more proactive in communication with landlords. Cost is around average but value might be a little low in that only few services provided
I was renting with Martin & Co. for several years. Initially, the moving in process was fine, although the property was quite dirty and I spent several days cleaning (especially, the washing machine, it took me 2 years to remove the mould from the previous tenant). It took a while until the promised replacement of the cooker and other items took place (> 6 months). Rent went up several times during the tenancy without reasonable explanations. Moving out was a very unpleasant experience. I asked whether someone from the agency wanted to be present when I was moving out, but they repeated that an independent company would file a report on the status of the flat and would take a look at the it once I moved out. It took months to receive the report and several months to receive some parts of my deposit as I was charged for completely ridiculous items. Rent with open eyes and make sure to have everything documented when moving in/ out!
The initial viewings were fine, however as soon as we moved in we faced many issues. It was meant to be unfurnished but we arrive to furniture, it hadn’t been cleaned and the grey walls were painted over so patchy with white. There was mould in the bathroom, and 3 cans of ‘poisonous’ spider spray in the drawers.. great first impression! It’s now been a month of me chasing them, to little responses and whenever I have heard back, they are dismissive and unprofessional. I hope that we don’t face more issues with them going forward.
