I have to point out that Tiger is a student who signed an 11 month fixed term joint tenancy agreement till 28th August 2019 along with two other foreign students; Tiger then informed us he wished to terminate his own tenancy at the end of May 2019 citing personal reasons although in fact this is when the university breaks up for the summer recess. As an agency, we have a duty of care to make sure the terms and conditions of the tenancy agreement are fully complied with. Tiger, I hope you understood your tenant’s obligation before you entered into a fixed term tenancy with two other students. As you must be aware rent is payable in advance for overseas students without a UK based guarantor; I guess this is what you meant in your allegation that you were scammed thousands of pounds. Our staff have dealt with this matter with courtesy and efficiency, and complied with our obligation to our client, the landlord, by informing the tenant of his obligations and responsibilities in a fair and reasonable manner at all times.
