I signed a contract with Dexters and rented more than 3 years, but I haven't received my deposit for nearly 2 months. Although the inventory check has been completed, they do not respond to my email inquiries. Kingston has many foreigners coming to find housing, but if you are coming from abroad, I would not recommend this place. If it’s your first time renting in the UK and you choose to use Dexters, I think you will experience a lot of stress.They neither provide any assistance nor even reply to emails.

Horrible. Been a tenant in their property for 4 years. Came to us moving out and they tried to deduct a significant amount for a professional clean, which we already had done when we moved out. When I sent the invoice of the clean and asked why we were being charged I was told by an agent the inspection was by a third party service and was OTT so they’ll have a look at it again. Bearing in mind, when we moved in the place was in an unhygienic state and when we requested for it to be cleaned, it took 3 weeks for them to get someone out. As no one was going to live in squalor for almost a month, we had done the majority of the cleaning already. I was told to remove a few of my things I left behind, which is fair enough, but also remove the landlord’s furniture which he for some reason forgot he owned, and if we did, it would be a negotiation point for getting our whole deposit back. For years we’ve had issues not looked at, not replied to, not had anyone come to see. Wet marks and mild mould, a fire due to the filter in the cooker hood not being changed when we moved in (?????) and a number of other things. It’s going to be about 6 weeks since we moved out that we get our deposit back. The only reason we didn’t take this further legally is because we just want to be done with them. Absolutely appalling.

Set up numerous viewings with various agents in Kingston. Dexters were the worst agent (by a country mile) to deal with. Zero attention to detail.

I search for my neighbour's house, which is up for sale with Dexters. It's a 2 bed terrace, so l search for 2 bed terraces in my KT2 postcode, but nothing shows up, because Dexters have failed to list it as a terrace house. So it won't be showing up on potential buyers' searches if they're looking for terrace houses! No wonder the property market in this area is so slow, the local estate agents are all numpties.

I DEEPLY REGRET CHOOSING THIS AGENT. Our property purchasing experience with this agent has been frustrating. Initially, Emily was friendly and helpful—until our offer was accepted. After that, Dexter refused to taking the property off the market or labeling it as Under Offer, citing their own company policy. Only when we threatened to pull out did they finally comply. We were also promised that the official sales memo would be sent on a specific day. Our solicitor waited the entire day, but by 7 PM, there was still nothing. When we asked Emily, she casually said she was too busy with viewings to return to the office—without any prior notice to us for the delay. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, she even called us rude. During a follow-up viewing, Mustafa (another staff in Dexter) told us that the extractor hood fan was "smoke-sensitive" and wouldn’t start working unless there was a lot of smoke. However, we later discovered that other flats in the same building had hood fans that worked immediately when switched on. If you are a first-time buyer and insist on choosing this agency, I recommend consulting friends or colleagues who have experience buying property. Some of practices in this Dexter branch are quite different from most other local agents. There are many properties available. If you don’t want to add extra stress when buying a home, then just DO NOT choosing Dexter.

Many of the adverts of houses for sale are fake. The houses were sold long ago but they keep you on the phone to take your details and then spam you with run down properties

really disappointing, I have an idea that dexters distribution was related to their good reputation but unfortunately they have financial power as what happened to me proved that they don't care about the tenant as recently happened they forced us to release the security deposit and got our furniture disposed off without our permission
