Dear Chris We're sorry to hear you're unhappy with the outcome of your tenancy. To be clear, D + J Lettings does not retain any part of a tenant’s deposit. All deposits are held and managed in accordance with government regulations via the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS). In this case, after the tenancy ended in April 2024, a dispute arose between both landlord and tenant regarding a small portion of the deposit. As per procedure, this was referred to the TDS for an independent decision, which neither we nor the landlord control. We act impartially on behalf of both parties and always follow the correct legal process.
