Warning to other buyers Last weekend we travelled more than 5 hours to view a property advertised by this agency, believing we were about to see our future home. On arrival, we were informed that the property could not be viewed because the seller could not secure the property. Later, we were told that the owner had changed the locks without the agency’s knowledge. Unfortunately, we were not informed about this in advance, which made our journey completely unnecessary. After this, the agent told us that she would send a video viewing of the property, however no video was ever sent, nor did we receive any further update or explanation. We found another property advertised by the same agency at a similar price, which could have at least been shown to us via video viewing. Communication overall was very poor. I tried to contact the agent by phone, but my calls were not answered, despite the situation. I believe that after such an inconvenience, a proper conversation would have been the minimum courtesy. This experience was extremely disappointing and emotionally exhausting for us. We have since continued our search with other sellers. I am sharing this to warn future buyers to be cautious, so they do not experience the same situation we did.

Waste of space company do not rent with this company does not do repairs with holds ya deposit at the end of tenancy avoid this estate agent

Have just purchased our first house that was listed by Hollbrook & Co, Hartlepool branch. Terrible experience, I could go on & on but probably better just steering clear from them to be honest. No matter how much you love the house, save yourself the 6 months of stress. Crucial details: house was not listed as having a service rent charge (fleecehold), was only after an offer was put in & accepted that our solicitor made enquiries which lead to us finding out about it. Should of backed out at that point really… but we had our hearts set on the house by then. Couldn’t get in touch with Hollbrook all week on completion week. 20+ phonecalls, 0 answer. Had to ring our solicitor & get contact details for the seller to give us the keys directly. The poor sellers had the same rubbish communication from Hollbrook & their solicitor & had no clue they where meant to be out by 2pm. Leading to a stressfull day for them & us not getting the keys until about 5:30pm. So we ended up having to move in the following day. God knows what we would of done if we’d all had been in a chain.. Luckily we didn’t due to renting. We where first time buyers and the sellers first time sellers, so both had no idea what the “norm” is but I can’t believe your even allowed to operate like this & continue trading tbh..

Very poor service from this company when trying to sell a house! It's been on the market for more than seven months.

Original 1star review was for Castledene lettings and their appalling way of treating tenants Now changed to 3 star as Holbrook seem to actually get stuff done and push landlords to do repairs. Back to 1 star as nothing seems to have changed as I'm forced to live in a house with mould in several rooms, flooring that hadn't been put down properly and is dangerous, and a front door with a loose frame.

My Son was let down by this company , who tell you , your the only person interested in a property , cancel a viewing , re-arrange another viewing , then don't even have the decency to let you know they've rented out to someone else . Not a good way to run a business with people who are desperate to find a home .Don't know how they've won any awards .

Sales staff very good but property viewed not as advertisd. When not procedded with rental tried to with hold deposit. In end deposit refunded under protest

I would not recommend anybody going with this group of unprofessional people , they dont respond to problems then say they have . I lost half my deposit because i did the house up i was living in to a far better standard than i got it in . The house was filthy and rats was present i had a cannibis farm in the loft which they never removed when told but told me they have . In there eyes ignorance is bliss , there liers and they use cowboys for builders . They said the house was looking better than when i moved in but still took half my deposit because of colour of a few walls . without any confirmation i handed in my notice and handed keys back. I wasnt aloud to even change colour back due to incompetence. They can keep the money just so i dont have to carry on dealing with them . DO NOT GO WITH THESE
