I have just rented a flat with Castledene and Louise, Lizzie & Abbey been very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend! Only thing that i can point on would be the fact that they are still doing contracts on paper and not online as most of agencies do.

At first they were very helpful. I viewed a property in Wynyard and liked it. Told them I wanted to apply and the girl took details and said the application dept would contact me. I had been warned that they were slow by the tenant who showed me round. Went on holiday and emailed them again. 10 days after saying I wanted it they told me somebody else had filed an application on the 19th. I had said I wanted to proceed a full five days before then. Very disappointing and inefficient I found. Unfortunately par for the course in this current market. RESPONSE to Response from Owner: I telephoned and spoke to a helpful employee. I did check all my emails and even loaded up my laptop, as I am on holiday. No email was received in any of my inboxes. My spam folder is empty. On the 16th I received many emails but none from yourselves or a signup company. I should accept some responsibility as I did not chase this up. Lesson for future interactions with estate agents. Thank you.

Warning to other buyers Last weekend we travelled more than 5 hours to view a property advertised by this agency, believing we were about to see our future home. On arrival, we were informed that the property could not be viewed because the seller could not secure the property. Later, we were told that the owner had changed the locks without the agency’s knowledge. Unfortunately, we were not informed about this in advance, which made our journey completely unnecessary. After this, the agent told us that she would send a video viewing of the property, however no video was ever sent, nor did we receive any further update or explanation. We found another property advertised by the same agency at a similar price, which could have at least been shown to us via video viewing. Communication overall was very poor. I tried to contact the agent by phone, but my calls were not answered, despite the situation. I believe that after such an inconvenience, a proper conversation would have been the minimum courtesy. This experience was extremely disappointing and emotionally exhausting for us. We have since continued our search with other sellers. I am sharing this to warn future buyers to be cautious, so they do not experience the same situation we did.

Used to be a good but now is very bad service

Very poor service from this company when trying to sell a house! It's been on the market for more than seven months.

Original 1star review was for Castledene lettings and their appalling way of treating tenants Now changed to 3 star as Holbrook seem to actually get stuff done and push landlords to do repairs. Back to 1 star as nothing seems to have changed as I'm forced to live in a house with mould in several rooms, flooring that hadn't been put down properly and is dangerous, and a front door with a loose frame.
