We appointed Kings in Church Langley to sell our property in Newhall as we had found a new property to buy and Kings were very local and had a lot of properties for sale in the area. The overall service was extremely poor and in the end I showed the final purchases around my house as Kings could not accommodate them. They did manage to get some offers on the property quite quickly prior to this but the offers were ridiculously under their valuation and when we refused these offers they used scare mongering tactics to get us to accept them. They were saying that they were good offers and that we don't want the sale going cold, even though it had only been on the market two weeks! I believe they were misleading purchasers on the offers we would accept to get offers in to show they were doing a good job. Their survey and photos of the house were very poor and inaccurate. The viewers were amazed how spacious the house was as they said the photo's made it look very small. Normally with other estate agents it seems to be the other way around. They did not put the house up on their website or on rightmove until week 3 and by this time we had sold the property. If this had happened sooner then we may have had more reasonable offers to consider. Another issue we had was that our purchasers used King conveyancing which Kings recommend which based on their performance almost lost us our new house. We could not speak to Kings conveyancing so had to chase the branch manager Bradley Andrews to get them to move it along. When we raised the issues we had with Kings performance and their conveyances with Bradley Andrews he was very dismissive and blasé and was very unprofessional. This is not the attitude that is needed in this very stressful time and made us raise a complaint to the regional manager Roydon Weeks. His attitude was even worse than Bradley's and basically said that they did what they were hired to do and that was that. To sum up I wish I had used purple bricks. Try to avoid them if you can and good luck with you sale. Matt
First time i went to the office for an appointment i waited one hour with two small children super active who were trashing the office so OBVIOUSLY i had to go outside at 5 degrees freezing myself my friend and the kids. We went to Tesco coffe shop but again could not stay too long inside as children as you know would not stay still or sit for too long. A young guy came to call us saying Thomas is ready to see you now, and off we go. Three seconds later we were in the office only to find Thomas sitting and talking to another couple etc...In all of this the office did not do anything to help us or call Thomas or inform us of the long wait we had to endure in the freezing cold weather. If i was told by the office guys that Thomas would have net me one hour later we would have gone to a proper warm and quiet place to rest and to eat etc...We basically just been ignored totally my friend could not even look at him in his face. We both very busy and intelligent and Professional people just like any other but we refuse to take this kind of behaviours as when in person it is very disrespectful i ensure you........ On top of this i had been treated like a piece of dirt because i could not make an appointment as i was stuck in traffic because of the rugby in Twickenham as i live around that area, the cars were not moving at all and we could not take the motorway, provisional licence...... I have been spoken like a criminal i promise you and they are saying we missed another two appointments so we are now the bad people and we cannot book any other viewings......... HOLD ON A MINUTE, I ALWAYS EXPLAINED TO THOMAS THAT MY HUSBAND AT THAT TIME HAD AN AGENCY JOB SO IF HE WAS CALLED TO WORK HE HAD TO GO AS WE COULD NOT AFFORD FOR HIM NOT TO WORK......THOMAS ALWAYS SAID TO US IT WAS FINE NOT TO WORRY.......how more clear do i need to be ? Are we speaking the same language ????????? Wasn't he fine with our situation ? And if all this caused the whole issue why in hell Thomas OR THE MANAGER OF THE BRANCH WHICH IN ALL THIS SEEM NOT TO EXIST DIDN'T EXPLAIN TO US THAT WOULD BE AN ISSUE AND SO ON ?????? OR WHY NOT EXPLAINING THAT WE WERE CREATING THEM ISSUES BY NOT GOING TO THE VIEWINGS THE FIRST TIME WE COULD NOT GO ???????? Am i missing something because i do not see it sorry........I wrote letters of complaint to the Head Office who only tried to defend their employees which i find even more insulting isn't it ? How very unprofessional and sad.......so they are allowed to treat people the way they like and now they are not even allow me to buy a house using their agency they are saying to me i must drive there and if i am lucky and they have time i might get some viewings......I live 1 hour and half away driving.....Using their position to stop me from buying a house from their agency basically. I am not sure this is even legal i will check with my lawyer as i do have one.
