Rude, patronising, sarcastic and inflexible. Dealing with this agency has been a nightmare from start to finish during our almost 2 year tenancy, and was a reason we decided to move. Our new estate agents have been a dream in comparison and it shows that there can be nice estate agents out there. They made every issue we raised with our old flat seem like it was our fault, even when it was things that were completely out of our control like a collapsed roof. The agent who dealt with our check out process was rude and sarcastic at every opportunity and caused us a lot of stress. We are young professionals who paid our rent early every month and still had to put up with this. In my opinion, I would avoid this estate agent as far as possible as the stress caused was not worth it. I’m sharing my experience to avoid other people going through what we went through.NegativeProfessionalism

We are very disappointed to have seen your review and looked into this in detail with the branch and staff involved. From our review of the situation, we have seen correspondence from you during your tenancy which is contrary to your negative feedback which is actually complementary of our offices service. We appreciate when tenants want to break a tenancy agreement earlier without giving the correct notice and the landlord refusing their request this will always cause a negative response but this is not the agents fault. Your definition of a collapsed roof is also unfair. It was a leaking roof during lockdown which you were being called several times by our office late in the evening when you reported it which was temporarily covered the next morning and a full repair shortly after. That said we are always looking to improve our service whenever possible and are open to honest feedback and would like to take the opportunity for you to email finchley@ellisandco.co.uk with a suitable day and time for the Director to contact you.

Had nothing but bad experiences with this agency during our 2 year tenancy. Has caused us massive stress. They are terrible in my opinion and I do think the amount of positive reviews is because they ask you to do a review as you get the property, and definitely wouldn’t want you to do one 2 years after working with them.

We take all reviews very seriously and in this case do feel your comments are unfairly noted due to a decision made by the landlord not to terminate your contract without you giving the correct notice. We do have correspondence not only at the beginning of your tenancy but also during your tenancy that are complementary of our service as we often attended to any reported issues within the same day so it is a terrible shame it has ended in this way due to circumstances out of our control.

Worst letting agency I have ever dealt with. I am very disappointed with their service. - Their behaviour is rude and offensive - The director (Khalid Ghani) kept us waiting for 40 min to make a planned appointment. - They don't even bother to reply the emails after getting their commission - They made a mistake in entering my tenancy information on DPS website and they refuse to fix it. - It takes them 3 days to get a 5 min task done.

Terrible service, no contact or contract for a week after moving in. When I've found out that I have very laud venue behind the wall and went to get my contact I was told than no one can help me until my agents come back in afternoon. When I tried to insist and explain I was cut off and owner told me to get out. I will never again be tricked by "no power" when watching a flat.

Isn't it a shame with all the competition of North London letting agents, Ellis & Co are the most rude and unhelpful out there. Luckily, I'm only trying to rent a property and not using them as an agent for my own house. I can't imagine how bad their service is for that and I'd be horrified as a landlord about how they speak to potential clients. The staff are generally unhelpful, curt and short on the phone and are useless at getting in touch with you. This is enough to put me off renting through them, I can only imagine how long they'd keep you waiting to return your call if you had a real emergency as a tenant!
